I am about to walk away

Granted I don't really mean that I am going to but living with a child who is NEVER happy is exhausting. I posted this almost exactly a year ago: He has gotten worse. He is never happy and he's usually crying and/or raging over something. He hits me, his siblings, punches walls, and he is...

Tomorrow we head to the psychiatrist. W is going to be evaluated and we are going to talk about L's medications. When we upped L's medications, they had said that we can take them up 1mg yet or possibly change to Abilify. Anyone have any experience with Abilify?

from Abilify to Trileptal, was dystonia

So we are trying to wean him off of Abilify and transfer him to Trileptal and Trileptal doesn't seem to be working quite as well. His dystonia is down by a lot, but his mania is higher and I don't think it's too long before he assaults someone or melts down in school. Tried for the first time...

    BiPolar (BP), Abilify, TD, TrueHope

So psychiatrist looked at difficult child's tongue and thinks that the little movements he sees around the edges may be tardive dyskinesia from Ablfy. Anyone has seen anything of the sorts? When he's stressed, tired, manic he starts moving his tongue about checking out missing teeth etc. Says can't stop. And I...

    Seroquel and Abilify together?

difficult child just turned 11 last week, and had a pretty stable 18 months since his five months stint in residential in 2007-2008. By stable I mean no physical violence towards people and no auditory hallucinations. We've had the usual impulsive behavior, food gorging/hoarding, lots of lying, and unless...

More free samples of Abilify for the next 3 wks ... can't tell if there's improvement

but at least difficult child isn't getting sick from it. That's the first step. The psychiatrist spent a fair amt of time with-us today, asking about difficult child's behavior, appetite, etc. I will be keeping a journal with-specific times, dates and incidents. I do see difficult child's appetite increasing, but he's fairly thin so he'll be...

    Is there hope?

How do reach a child that is engulfed in abandonment and despair? She looks to her me, her mom for the answers, to guide her, to love her. Mother says you can reach for the stars, you can do it, only to come back with an empty hand, broken and defeated. My daughter, the reason I breathe is...

Any comments on the following: the medication (abilify 7mg) keeps things quite wonderful (except for some excess weight) most of the time but once every few days, when he's tired, he'll go into a mode where he wants to control everyone completely and then of course is frustrated and lashes out in a...
