Mom? What's a difficult child?
I try to go back and forth on my books. But I am always drawn to very intense, especially new books on Mental Illness...

I read Alice Cooper's Book on Recovery and Golf when I took my getaway... It was GREAT!!! I am so in love with him, just as a person... the way he did what he did. His survival skills, his kindness. He is truly one of a kind, kind to his family. He has found love, passion and God. He is so grateful for everything in his life. And he is a great golfer... I am a new golfer and love his take on it.

The other is by a woman my age, she has Bipolar Disorder. She tells her life story. It is so close to so many of us, so many of our children... I see so much of myself in her,(without the 2 great books and only one hospitalization) but so many things about her I could relate to... so many of the negative. So much of the hope.
I could also see so much of K as Marya as a child. As well as many of the children here...
Her story is very engrossing and well told. She wrote "Wasted" when she was in her early 20's.
The book is called "Madness: A Bipolar life" by: Marya Hornbacher

Mom? What's a difficult child?
OH! and I just had to order this one... our first psychiatrist's book finally came out... the forward is from Susan Resko the CABF, President. Dr. Mani Pavuluri is also on the board of CABF. She is so wonderful...
She also has an awesome online pharmacological pamphlet online for parents. it is pretty long. I have not started the book yet, looks good. I hope... she is one of the pioneers for research.
