I mentioned the show "30 Days" in lucidaleblessed's thread about going to jail with your kid. I thought it might provide some insight into what jail can be like.
The man on the show is Morgan Spurlock, of the Supersize movie. He actually goes into the jail and goes through what an inmate goes through. He can only get visitors at a set time, spends time in solitary confinement, all of it.
