A very good Tuesday morning.....

Good morning all,

I've been up all night for whatever reason & thought I'd start the morning thread.

Today proves to be the least busy day of the week ~ my niece K is coming over this afternoon for an auntie visit (& to do laundry).

Other than that a quick trip to the pharmacy & home to find the surface of my desk (which I've been ignoring for weeks now). Bills to be paid & lots of shredding to be done.

Hoping to get in some sort of nap this morning after my Wii Fit workout & before kt gets home from school.

Hope you find a reason to smile ~ leave your loved ones with loving words always. Have a good one.

G'day.

Linda, sounds like you have a busy day happening. It's good to get help with the chores.

We had a study day at difficult child 3's school today. PLus I was in there yesterday, I was really feeling sore today. And I have to go out again tomorrow (to see the allergy specialist plus possibly more).

difficult child 3 had his drama play tonight so we stayed out and did some shopping and other thingsa to kill time. I got the chest X-ray done that my GP ordered. I snuck a peek at the report - yes, I have a broken rib. No real surprise. Nothing really that we can do.

We have just got home, unpacked the shopping and I've got into my PJs (it's good to get out of my bra, it really presses on the rib and hurts). I'm hoping to get to bed really early tonight, I had a broken night last night.

Somewhere in the kitchen are some reheats which will do for tonight. difficult child 3 had his usual Tuesday night big burger, he doesn't need feeding. So that takes the heat off us.

Enjoy your Tuesday, everyone.

Good Morning All!!

Linda it sounds like you have quite a bit scheduled. I hope the trip to the pharmacy has no unpleasant surprises. Seems like the costs go up every time we pick up prescriptions.

Enjoy your visit with your niece and try to get a nap or some other "down time" when you can.

So sorry about your rib, Marg. What did you do to break it? I must have missed something because i can't remember how you would have done that. Does it help to wrap an ace bandage around your ribs? husband had us do that when he had pneumonia and cracked or broke three ribs. Can you wear a camisole instead of a bra?

It sounds like you had quite a busy day wtih difficult child 3. How was his play? I hope you are less sore tomorrow!

We are finally going over to do Father's Day with my dad. The weekend turned out to be very busy for my folks, so Dad rescheduled us for this afternoon. Jessie begged until I let her make the coconut dish my dad is crazy about. I may do some homemade pudding for the rest of us to eat as we are NOT coconut fans except for husband.

The kids are working VERY hard to clean up around here. jess and thank you drew up a contract stating who would do what. They signed it and had me sign it. We are going to town to see my pain doctor on Wed. I told them that depending on how well they did the work, and how many arguments they had over it, I would give them up to $15 to play games at the pizza place. This one is like a Chuck E Cheese on steroids.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a conflama free Tuesday!

Good Morning,

Linda-Enjoy your visit with your niece and your nap:sleeping:

Marg-I hope you are sleeping right now.:) I'm sorry about your broken rib, I just bruised one once and was in incredible pain. My mom just cracked three ribs (she isn't even sure how) and is also in quite a bit of pain. How was difficult child's play?

What a lazy day yesterday. I never made it to the club. After my therapist appointment. I came home and slept for 3 1/2 hours! When I finally dragged myself downstairs I realized I hadn't taken my medications yesterday morning, no wonders I was so tired. Of course, then I took them and didn't get to sleep til late! I did finish the new Stephanie Plum novel since I was up so late:reading:

A bit ago I thought I heard thunder, it really woke me up. A few minutes later poor difficult child came in saying he hates his cpap machine. It fell to the floor and so did he (a three foot drop). That explained the "thunder".

After we drop of difficult child at camp we are definitely heading to the health club! Later I'll fit in a nap (hopefully not as long as the day before).

I don't think I have anything scheduled for today but can't be sure because I can't find my calendar and it's driving me crazy!!!!!!!!!

Wishing everyone a peaceful day:flower:

Oops Susie my brain must be in a fog, didn't mean to miss you! I hope the visit to your dad's is a nice one. It's nice Jesse wants to make a dish your dad likes so much! I hate to think of what a Chuck E. Cheese place looks like on steroids!! Way too much action and noise for me!

Well, I just told you all about my day, and it disappeared!
Hi Susie, Linda, Marg and everyone, hope you're all feeling better, and fitter soon. Enjoy your day, my tuesday was busy but fun.
I crept up at 5.00am, and haad some quiet time and a cuppa. I got the stove going, it was -1 celsius and a little nippy.
thankfully, everyone stayed sleeping until I had done the major chores, that is to say, the ones away from the house. Then one at a time, sleepyheads were up and I was able to bathe and dress everyone quickly. I sat them down to a warm bowl of porridge and the day began...

I managed to get through my goal set for the day, which was the washing, and some. Seemed everytime I turned around, there was a bottom to wipe/clean. Little 3yo clearly has problems, he didn't manage to get one in the pot all day. Could be a little stress though, being away from home. We'll see.
-DD12 came home at lunchtime, and we had one of my pre-prepared hot dinners, with toasted sandwiches for supper. It was hard for her to concentrate on her schoolwork much after that. Also, I was making numerous calls related to our new real estate venture. bank says yes, vendors, say yes and sign; now we need to sell the block here and we'll be in business. Wish I could show the photos, stone cottage on 23 acres - with a loft (Little House on the Prairie fans are we)

Marg, do you want to host an italian student? seems the people who said yes, have to pull out, he arrives in 18 days to??? well, now he doesn't know where?

Have a lovely Tuesday all...... I'm off to bed. early for a change!

:clean: Good Morning Ladies!!!!

Linda, sounds like the day is not too active. Enjoy the "auntie" time and I hope you find the surface of your desk!!! We need to talk soon - I have to share my bird sanctuary progress with you - easy child and I counted 16 birds having their "evening meal" last night!!!

Marg, glad you are in for the night. Nice that you don't have to worry abot a lot of cooking at the end of a busy day. I can relate to the "bra" issue. With my pinched nerve, taking off the bra helps. I'm endowed on top and that strap off my shoulder is a relief!

Susie, nice to hear the kids pitching in and helping to clean! Chuck E Cheeze on steriods :crazy1::crazy1:!!!!! Have a great day.

Sharon, sorry the "thunder" woke you this morning. I would be soooooo lost without my calendar....if it's not on there, it's not happening! Good napping!

Office this morning - easy child is coming along and is cleaning the office for her dad. She offered to do it once a week this summer as a form of thank you rental payment for her new apartment. She will be moving in around the first of Aug. One of my best friends and her daughter, a good friend of easy child, are joining us at noon and we'll go down and look at easy child's new digs (only two blocks from our office) and then have lunch.

My mom arrives around two for a quick overnight. difficult child is up early this morning because the trash trucks woke him. He was up REALLY late with easy child and her friends watching a Tremors movie marathon (I don't think they came up until 3!)

Wishing everyone a great Tuesday - Keep cool :peaceful:

Good morning. :coffee:

Sorry I don't have time to greet each of you individually but I'm running late, late, late! Duckie ended up sleeping over at my aunt's house with her cousins and I didn't get to bed until quite late so I'm really behind now. I hope you each have a wonderful day and have lots of reasons to smile!

:salute:

Just a quick update - I broke the rib from coughing due to whooping cough. I DON'T recommend catching whooping cough! There's also a possibility that I was predisposed to catching whooping cough because I was on prednisone; plus the prednisone could have leached calcium from my bones to make the rib break more likely.

I wish I could skip wearing a bra tomorrow, but I find that seeing doctors when not wearing a bra can get a bit embarrassing. Plus my appointment int he afternoon (assuming the doctor finishes with me in time for me to get there) is an audition for a TV game show. I know from past experience, I need to look my best. That means I HAVE to wear at least a Salvation Army bra (uplifts the fallen).

But if my doctor runs overtime and I have to skip the audition, I'll whip my bra off while I'm driving home. Hey, I'll do that anyway, whatever time it is that I'm coming home!

As it is, the bra I'm wearing is a fairly loose one from when I was still losing weight.

Trish, I'll have to pass on hosting an Italian student. We're a bit too far off the beaten track for most people, plus the house is very disorganised at the moment. We have hosted students before, mostly Japanese students. And a couple of times we've hosted singers from Philadelphia. We do love showing visitors around and seeing our lovely country through their eyes.

But right now, I think it would be too much.

How long would it be for? And what age? What are the students doing while they're here?

Enjoy your Tuesday, everyone.

Marg
