I was reading your reply to Steely's post about the balmy weather in TX... and your spill while delivering some food.
You need shoe cleats! Seriously. You might already have them? But if you did you wouldn't have fallen!!! DOH.
I took one serious fall a few years back on black ice and was laid up for a few weeks.
I had deep bone bruising in my tibia and femur.
We used shoe cleats anytime it got icy!
Oh, by the way, I was walking a plate of cookies over to a neighbors when I took the fall!
There are other ones that have actually cleats also, but I like these because you can fold them up and put them in your pocket.

OMG. I will have sunk to a new level. Seriously, they do look nice.

I was telling H the other day that it's tough looking sexy in the cold. I've got thermos on, knee high boots, an Eskimo hat that is ridiculous looking but warm, and a coat that makes me look like the Pillsbury Dough Boy. Hot stuff there.
