And now a bee question...

Yes, star, that is them! They don't chase us and we can walk right through them, they don't seem bothered. But I am the one who is paranoid. We get them every year-this year was by far the worst ever! We've never had this many!! When I'm standing in front of the house, I bend down low and look over my yard-they are everywhere, a thick layer of them, amazing to see. And yes, they are pollinating everything...though, truth be told, I don't have much to pollinate in my yard these days. When h started the addition up, we ripped out a lot of plants and shrubbery. Maybe this year we can do something, I need some plants and shrubs that flower in the spring again!

Thanks for checking that out! You're like our very own Bee Charmer!

Mrs. Beasley is OUR Bee chama' ------She jumped up and snatched a Carpenter bee and had it in her mouth like that song "Bringing home a baby bumble bee......and it never stung her. Then while walking down the sidewalk (so proud of her catch) she jumped up and snatched another one in her lips and spit the one in her mouth out. Looked at it,and backed up all puppy ears, growling, barking - it was hysterical, but I had to pick the poor thing up and put it in the crab apple tree to dry off, and it was just making buzzy mad bee noises. So now we call her (southernly accent) You ole Bee Chama you! That and I have pictures of her and Pootie as babies in their Halloween costumes - They were BEES. Honey Bees. lol. Ouixa Boudreau was so tiny she fit into a build a bear jacket.

Okay about YOUR bees..lol. The only way to rid yourself of them is to either dig up your dirt and remove it - (lots of $chaching) or poison the yard and kill the larvae and pupae that are growing. I would imagine each year this is going to get worse. If you have an extension office with a bee specialist I would seriously contact them and tell them that you have millions. Even though they are not aggressive - if someone in your neighborhood has allergies and wander into your yard? They could be killed and THAT could cause a liability for you. I would see if there is a way someone could get them out without harming the bees - maybe a local guy? Most don't want them if they aren't producing honey - but I'd start with an extension office or DNR (department of natural resources) maybe they could be relocated?
