I read the article in Time. It really provides a very sumpathetic overview of many placements that are disrupted and disruptive. Well worth reading. DDD

It's not just Russian adoptions that offer little to no information. It happens here in the US far too often. Too much time is spent trying to keep the biological family together ~ by the time a parent's rights have been terminated there have been, many times, multiple stays in foster care. Once all the legalities have been completed the child(ren) are as hurt as if they've been in a Russian orphanage.

Adoption is a different way to become a family; it's not perfect. However, it shouldn't be filled with disinformation or worse no information.
