Anyone else think "at will" work states are a joke? Is it just me?

The problem is... there are MANY companies who STILL operate exactly that way.
Unions won't touch most of them - because there isn't enough money in them to be worth the fight, for the most part.

Unions WERE necessary, and did a LOT of good.
But they've become mostly lazy, overpaid, unmotivated fat cats... or extremely corrupt ones. There are very few unions left that actually care about the people they represent... or even represent those people.

I'm not anti-union. I just want my grandpa's unions back.

IC - you have a very good point.

For instance - what do you think when you hear "Teamsters"? Yeah, that's what I thought. But - they've done a lot of good for ME.

on the other hand, I get really tired of all the political garbage they mail to my house. I'm mostly NOT in agreement with them...

I was watching American Experience last night on PBS. It was about Henry Ford. He fought unions with paid thugs! He had thugs walking through the factories who would beat someone who even thought to say union. I grew up in a union household. I've seen what being a union member does for a person. I have only been a union member a couple of short stints, but hate at will ideation.
