Anyone have a loved one who was in or near Camp Lejeune?

I know that quite a number of us have family members who served in the military. Did any of our military family members live in or near Camp Lejeune for any time between 1950 and 1984?

If so, they were exposed to extremely high levels of many toxic substances.

Here is a link to an article about this on the Planet Green website (an offshoot of the Discovery Channel). http://planetgreen.discovery.com/food-health/marines-contaminated-water-camp.html

I hope that we can find ways to help those veterans and support staff and their families can get help.

My Dad went to boot camp there in the early 40's.

Heck, I remember when we were stationed at Camp Pendleton (CA) the trucks would come by spraying the fruit trees with DDT. As kids we were always outside ....I can still remember the feel of the "droplets" landing on me as we played nearby. No doubt there will be articles about that one of these days.
