I was going to make corned beef and cabbage, but no corned beef at the store, so pork loin chops it is.

Thanks!

I don''t but there was once a link posted to a website where you could put in the ingredients you wanted to use and recipes would pop up. Maybe someone can post that link again- I for one liked it but lost it!

This tastes good and works well in the crock pot--just be sure not to overcook the meat.

Pork Chops (or Spareribs) with Kraut

3 pounds ribs or chops
2 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
3 ½ cups sauerkraut (1 no. 2 ½ can)
2 medium carrots, shredded
1 ½ cups tomato juice
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2-3 teaspoons caraway seed (I omit)
1 unpared tart apple, finely chopped

Season meat with salt and pepper. Combine kraut, including liquid, with remaining ingredients and place in a dutch oven. Place ribs, meaty side up, on top of the kraut. Bake covered in a moderate oven (350) for 2 ½ -3 ½ hours or until ribs are done. Baste kraut with juices several times during the last hour.

These all sound like good, solid pork recipes. The only thing different that I like to do is to sear the meat first at high heat in a heavy skillet.

This browns it and avoids that rather unnatractive grey color pork takes on when cooked in a crockpot.
