So far I love it here!!! But what do I know??? I have yet to explore the northern parts... I know the men love the outdoors here! Hiking is number 1 second only to biking... well maybe number 1 is horses! I honestly do not know much about the jobs right now? We are a University town so... I know there are lots of Health Care jobs, Military and of course Education. Tons of Artists... I suspect a writer would and could do well if they found the right niche. Bisbee is a thriving artist community as well as Tubac. Tucson is cool because there is every type of person here and they all seem to be welcome. I supposedly live in the somewhat upper middle class area. I show up at school not showered, hair in pigtails, cup of coffee in one hand (with a saying like "Do I look like I give a rat's :censored2:?") and a Support Bipolar t-shirt... no dirty looks, lots of smile and Hello's... Principal rides a big ol' motorcycle... People drive to school on ATV's. Horses everywhere. So the only reason I think this is upper middle class is because some of the houses in the hills are VERY nice... The people are so different everywhere, but I have met so many nice people of all ages! Not very narrow minded yet! No humidity, sure it gets hot... but I am looking at snow in the mountains right now and in the hight of the summer you can drive less than 1 hour and you are at the top of Mt. Lemmon and it is pine trees and about 20-30 degrees cooler and creeks and rivers!!! And you can ski there a couple times a year if you want! I don't know what the answers are, but sometimes you just gotta say, ***!!! by the way: I found that quote in a Tucson mag, it is anonymous and it was about wines, it is on a wine label.... I loved it and thought it hit the nail on the head for me so often. For so many of us.
