Brain Deterioration?

I thought my difficult child was backsliding this year when she was mostly mainstreamed. She seemed to have lost everything she knew before. Turns out it was just her shutting down because the mainstreamed classes were just too much.

Since I moved her to the new school with her Special Education class from last year, she is flourishing. She's even reading better than she ever did before.

I wonder if it isn't the same with Aly. Maybe she is on shutdown mode because of the stress of mainstream?

I totally agree with you. We have an IEP meeting set up for right after Thanksgiving to discuss changing her placement. School psychiatric agrees, mainstream is too much for her.

Glad she has this next week off from school to destress!!
