When you say psychiatric, do you mean psychiatrist or psychologist?

A neuropsychologist is a psychologist who has specialized training in how the brain functions. He typically does testing in congnitive, educational and psychological functioning. A typical evaluation is 6 to 10 hours. Neuropsychologists can be found at children's and university teaching hospitals.

What smallmom said. They test for EVERYTHING rather than just listening to your complaints and observing a child who is usually not showing how he behaves in the short time you are together. It is a psychologist with special training in the brain, but a neurologist is a whole different ball of wax.
