I think that you were exactly right to make this a big issue and to make sure Wee saw it was a big issue. In some states finding out you allowed your child to have a switchblade can cost you custody of a child. It is take to show that you do not intend to raise the child to respect the laws. I only know this because divorce arguments are not private - anyone in court can hear what is going on. So it was an issue with another couple when I was there for gfgbro's divorce (I had to be there to discuss the call to cps.) A man had given his elementary age son one and the mother had her attorney turn it over to the cops so it was documented that the dad gave it to him with a card that said to not show your mother or teachers. Our state mandates shared parenting for ALL divorced couples unless one party is unfit - well this was apparently the last straw because the dad was put on supervised visitation every other week for no less than one year. But that would mean you had cgfg all the time and that would not be good for any of you. Have you asked cgfg how it is a gift from her stepdad if they used her money to buy it? Don't answer the question, just ask things like that now and then. It is only fair to give her mother some of the grief this koi gives you. And it will start to get cgfg to think on her own about things. what idiots her mother and stepfool are. That is not a stepdad or a man, it is a stepfool.
