I found out about a new food program in our community. It has no income requirement, just asks you to order in person or online. Then you pick it up at a scheduled day and time.

I spent $70 and got a TON of food. Enough meat for most of the month!!!

Part of it was a $15 dollar produce package. The food was not organic but was very fresh and in great condition.

    I got

    a pineapple
    4 kiwi
    3 lb oranges
    3 lb apples
    2 lb carrots
    celery (big bunch)
    green onions
    3 lb onions
    5 lb potatoes
    big head of romaine
    2 red bell peppers (big)
    1 sm spaghetti squash

That is just the produce package. I got some other things.

If anyone wants the website to see if it is in their area, I will PM it to you.

I have done Angel Food in the past, I think this has more food and the produce is better by a long shot.

Susie can you PM it to me? I'd like to see if they're in our area. I'm pinching penny's so hard these days the copper's coming off. :slap:

Thanks. I hope it's around here.

I LOVE ANGEL FOOD's a great deal, but you have to sign up a month in advance so their warehouses know how much to order.

THANKS for posting this FRUGAL tip! I love frugal and free.

Maybe I should change my name from Star to FrugalnFree

Makes me sound cheap and easy....I could get more dates!
