My difficult child starts on August 31st. There is a Right Start workshop tomorrow and Tuesday he will attend to get oriented to the building and how to get around. He is worried that he will not be able to find the correct classroom and that he will feel awful like he has every day for the last two years. I assured him that he will learn the building quickly and teachers will help make sure he gets to the right classroom. As for feeling weird, I reminded him that the new medication he is on has taken away the weird feeling so he should be just fine. We still have a 48 hr EEG set up to check for seizure activities to see if that is causing the weird feelings. I just hope I am right. School refusal is no fun and it is going to be a very long 6 years if he starts that up again. If he does face overwhelming feelings in 7th and 8th grade, there is a small private high school that is way less pressure that he can go to 9th - 12th. Diva went one year in 12th and graduated. I told him on days that I don't feel like thinking I just do the best I can, plug through the day and bring the books home to try again at night.
