Cultivating Relationships with difficult children

hearts and roses

Jo, thats the way it was with my boys and us but what I wrote is the way it was with me and my parents. Of course, I never had much of a relationship I could count on with my mother. Never knew what to expect but that didnt mean I didnt want one. Not sure I wanted one during my teen years. Cant actually remember that time.

I remember that time: I didn't want to have anything to do with my parents! Ugh - hated being with them, especially my mom. I was awful!! In my early 20's I started to come around again and didn't mind them so much, but it wasn't until I was nearing 30 that I fully embraced having a relationship with my mom. By then, my dad had passed.

Not many...parents are tools to feed, drive, clothe and ATM's. LOL

I'll second that
!

Yes, our son cares what we think of him. But ... ("But" is the operative word.)
