Deplin, anyone?

Does anyone know anything about Deplin (L-Methylfolate)? A's psychiatrist gave us some samples today to try over the next several weeks. From what I understand, Deplin is prescription folate that can boost the production of neurotransmitters to improve the way other medications for depression (such as Lamictal) work. Is anyone else using Deplin, and if so, what has your experience been?

I have heard of it and even thought of suggesting it on your thread about medication help. Since I don't have any experience with it, I didn't mention it. difficult child 2 did have a prescription for it but before we could use it, we switched doctors and the new one didn't use it.

This doctor said that people either love it or it does nothing. He said if it didn't work for her, that husband and I could try it.

The theory behind it seems good and it seems like it would be fairly safe.

Let us know how it works.
