difficult child still isn't at school

you;ve already gotten some good advice. I had a child with major school refusual. Things definitely got better when he was appropriately medicated and when the school stopped having power struggles with him.

Every now and then my son has days when he says he isn't going to school. I tell him that's fine, I will call the school limousine service (the police resource office) who has been known to come and pick kids up and take them to school. That has been sufficient to motivate my son. But you know, when he was really depressed, it wouldn't have. He would have gone back to bed, stayed in bed, and told me that he might as well be dead. Anything short of a nuclear explosion would not have motivated him. Taking away tv etc was fine--he just went to bed.
