Compassion. I know how hard it is. There is, after all, some internal shame from nothing being able to control a child that you love with all your heart. But your daughter is a very sick young lady. She is violent and has you all walking on eggshells. If you do not do something soon, she will act out in a manor that will take the situation completely out of your control. Do not wait. Call the police. Have them waiting when she gets home tonight. Do not wait. She may run tonight and then you will start all over again. For her sake, act now.

Compassion -

Just know there are many of us who have been where you are now. There are no good or easy solutions to a child behaving like yours is. I do know as odd as it sounds putting the sheriffs phone number up on several corkboards. When things got rocky that number was right there.

A few times in the chaos it was very helpful to have that number handy. IT (sadly) made us look like we had a plan - AND once we called the police; they could hear difficult child in the background. So it was easy for the police to call EMT to take him to the ER and get hospitalized. Again - NOT what you want to know or have happen and most times right up to the 11th hour you're still praying for a miracle or that this is the THING that changes their behavior. But it won't be.

The best thing to do - is to have a plan. If nothing else? It will shock your daughter when you and husband already know what you're going to do.

Best of luck hon - This is live hoovering at it's best.
