You and your husband are such good parents -- it's at times like those when our children, difficult children included, really need us, that we have to rally around there and just be there for them. In my opinion, those sorts of moments are when the family bonds become strengthened. It doesn't meant that at other times we don't have to carry on trying to teach them values etc., but a crisis like this needs all hands on deck, and you were there for her, and she will NEVER forget that, I'm sure. It sounds like you had a really good family experience together afterwards, and the fact that she came home to rest and sleep -- well, that's what family is all about at times like that. I wish you all peaceful times together, and hope that this will be a turning point for her.
