Do I tell the school I'm trying to get difficult child 1 evaluated?

I hope you get a great neuropsy evaluation, I would also wait until you get that before requesting an IEP, it should give you the evidence you need to get classified, sorry difficult child is struggling, glad you are looking into it.

In that case, you could put the request for an IEP evaluation in writing now and state up front that you are pursuing private neuropsychologist testing so tests are not repeated by the SD.

I would still call a 504 meeting now with ALL teachers to discuss his current challenges. If they can't all be there, they might be asked to fill out forms that indicate strengths, weaknesses and particular concerns.

We're trying to get M a resource class for 6th grade next year. She, too, will have to give up an arts rotation, which she will not be happy about. But not having meltdowns every afternoon about homework will be well worth it for her sanity and mine.
