Star, If you are needing to package things carefully, with bubble wrap and peanuts, for example, you might consider adding a dollar or two as handling fees and explain that the handling fees are to cover those things. For fast shipping and great packaging I am always willing to pay more. Yes, that is ME being willing to PAY MORE - I know, I know, I am the woman who filled stockings one Christmas solely with freebies gotten through the mail. But some things are worth paying for. I also look for sellers who ship USPS priority mail. The flat rate boxes and envelopes esp are nice because you can know exactly what postage will be and the boxes are FREE. You can even go to www.usps.gov and order the supplies for free. They take a week or two but they show up for free. It is really really handy and the box sizes are pretty flexible. When I have a number of things listed I often say that if you win one auction you can add more to the box for no additional fee as long as it fits in whatever size flat rate box, if it doesn't fit I will move up to the next size box if that is available. Be very careful with the home pickup for priority mail. The tracking doesn't work unless you take it to the post office, or at least that is how it works here. It has to be scanned in and postal carriers apparently do not do that. Often the tracking info doesn't show up until after the item is delivered, but if an item gets lost they can look for it a lot more effectively when it is shipped priority. Just some of my thoughts. I also save boxes and bubble wrap and even those air pocket thingys that amazon uses to pad boxes. I have found that walmart bags can be excellent packing material for very little additional weight. It also gets those extra bags out of your house!
