Well, they didn't give us a specific diagnosis... his aural temp was 100.3, he was coughing a LOT and his pulse shot up to 112 (or was it 120? Nurse asked him if his heart was racing and he said no, but when she double checked she looked a bit concerned -- I think it was a combo of the coughing and a little bit of dehydration), they thought he looked really pale (he does) and took a pulse/ox which was at 96... they said they usually like it to be higher in kids, but that's all I heard after that. The PA said his ears were fine, nose is a little stuffy, throat was very red, and lungs sounded like there's congestion in there despite his cough being rather tight and non-productive. Sooooo... they gave us a Z-pack scrip, told me to give him an expectorant instead of a supressant, push the fluids, yada, yada and follow up with the pediatrician on Monday (which I'd already booked an appointment for since we couldn't get in there today). I'm guessing it's bronchitis. And yeah, it probably would have tanked pretty quickly at the rate he was going. I imagine he's going to miss some school next week as well. This is really zapping him hard, poor guy.:ill:
