:coldday: Good Friday Morning All!

It's quite chilly here in central virginia this morning! Going to make getting in the pool for water fitness at 6 pretty darn tough!!!

So, the first official week of the new year is coming to a close. My kids are thrilled, I bet you and yours are as well! difficult child has actually done really well back this first week. No homework struggles, no calls from school, a little tough to wark up but.........

I'll hit the gym early this morning and return home in time to take difficult child to school. My cleaning crew comes in this morning, so I will return home and make sure all is ready for that. My cousin and I are going to hit the warehouse club for a few things - we split many things and that way we get the savings but not the spoilage! I'll drop her off at her home then I'll go the the grocer. After that, I will reward myself for an extremely busy and productive week with a ltitle sit down and continued read of Scarpetta until difficult child pick up time.

I hope your Friday is a good one and your Free Choice Makes you happy :alien:.

sharon you are so organized. And busy. sounds like you have a great day planned. Hope it all works out great.

Snow warning here. About 5 inches plus Lake effect and we are right on the Lake. Some stations say 5 inches others say 6 - 12. A slow moving storm. difficult child's class is suppose to have a field trip to Madison (2.5 hours). He isn't going to begin with, but I sure hope they cancel that trip. Once the winds pick up it would be way to dangerous. I am hoping with the slow moving storm the plows will keep up and I will be able to get home and back to work ok.

Appointment with psychologist this morning. I am nervous. the first step in the evaluation.

Have a good day.

Sharon/LDM, your day sounds very busy. Is it dawn before you get to the gym? I would find it so hard to get moving...

Kjs, why on earth wouldn't they cancel that school trip, with so much bad weather on the way? I can't imagine what it would be like for the bus driver to be stranded in snow with a busload of over-excited kids. Good luck with the psychologist appointment.

We had another coolish day, but it's going to get hot again tomorrow. First thing this morning, the local sculptor I'd offered some wood to, turned up to check out what we have. He can't use the eucalypt (which is the vast majority of our fallen timber) for his sculpting, but he took a lot of it for firewood with the promise to come take more. That should make husband happy, he doesn't like having so much lying around, especially during bushfire season. And the sculptor also was eyeing off some weed trees we have, he promised to come back and chop them down for us (again, we're happy - we save paying someone else AND we clear some weeds, for free). He then gave difficult child 3 a sample of his sculpture - a small, freeform box. Turns out the sculptor is a former clinical psychologist who specialised in autism. Next open day I have to take difficult child 3 to his studio to show him how he makes the boxes. I know difficult child 3 is wanting to get into more woodwork, a bit of inspiration won't hurt.

I took difficult child 3 and mother in law shopping today, we had to catch up on a lot of grocery shopping. I dropped off some mail to easy child 2/difficult child 2 and to difficult child 1. mother in law finally had a chance to see difficult child 1's & daughter in law's flat, she likes it (small, but a good first home).

Tomorrow is a quiet day, nothing planned. Beach maybe, if it's warm enough.

Wish me luck!

Good Morning,

Sharon-Sounds like a busy but fun day for you. Good idea with rewarding yourself with some reading time! I'm in the middle of a really good book and hope to sneak in some time tonight. Glad to hear difficult child had a great first week back at school!

Kjs-Yep, I bet they will cancel-we're (in Madison) only under an advisory but might get up to 8 inches-usually a storm warning-but since it is coming over two days it's an advisory. I hope the appointment. goes well!

Marg-Cool that the sculptor can use some of the wood. I'll check out the link tonight!

Rabbit-Enjoy the weekend!

It's going to be a slippery ride to and from work today as we are suppose to get up to 8 inches of snow by some time tomorrow. I hate winter driving!

I would normally try to get to the club after work but if the roads are back I won't. Maybe I'll just snuggle up and take a nap under the warmth of my electric blanket!

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.:peaceful:

Good morning everyone! In a tearing hurry. Sorry I don't have time to greet you individually.

I have a project meeting today with my project workgroup at husband's office. As yet, they don't know that we're married. I think that effective today, the cat will be out of the bag.

Happy Friday everyone!

Good morning all -

I am also running late. I was so hoping for a snow day today and as a result procrastinated getting up.

I am going to tackle contracts again at work today. I was so proud when I sent them off yesterday but they were soon sent back with some instructions for me to do something with them that I have no clue! So, I e-mailed my supervisor for answers and went about my other work that I am so far behind on. I have decided to sit down this morning and give it another shot. This is so far over my head and I think the main problem is that I just don't have the time to learn it - my other duties are too far behind. Hopefully my supervisor has some answers for me, however, being about as low as you can go on the totem pole, I may just be told to figure it out myself! UGH

Due to the contracts, I was having a mini meltdown yesterday. Another staff member came into the office I had stopped into and asked how I was. When I said, "Not good" she said she could see that! I better stay in my office when I am upset. I did tell another co-worker that I would rather feel like this over work than over difficult child like I did many days last year.

7:30 already? Gotta run. Atleast I have to only work 4 hours today because I have my 2nd graders to help out - we are learning about good citizens! I think I then need to stay at school and prepare my Sunday School lesson.

Welcome all,

Our forecast changed from rain to snow (at least on the mountains with the ski slope). My husband is now a ski patrol candid and we have season passes. This means we can get the boys back together for the weekend. Skiing is one activity where they never fight. I think it is because it is very physical and in the evenings they are too tired (good tired though).

BG had a minor episode yesterday. His computer got a virus and the hard drive needs to be reloaded. This takes a while and could not be done immediately. BG has a hard time dealing with this type of frustration. But, I managed to get him calm and it was not anywhere as big an explosion as in the past, only lasting about 1 hr! (In the past 3 days was not uncommon). So all is calm and we are looking for a good weekend.

Like all the other US mid-eastern-seaboarders, we're under a snowy mess watch for the weekend. I'm foot-stomping-mad, too, as I had plans to go to an old friend's birthday party tomorrow, and my best friend's parents have just gotten a hot tub, so we were going to drive out and "test it" for them.

But I'm not crossing the Blue Ridge with snow and sleet and ice. It's just not smart, no matter how much I want to. BOO. :)

Sis is (temporarily, at least) doing a little better. I'll try to post today with an update!
