:good_morning: Hello on this Hump Day Morning!

Always good to know you are 1/2-way to the weekend

difficult child has his last day of academics for the school year today. He's already up - 1/2 early! Today is 8th grade class picture day so they are wearing their class shirts. He's actually kinda excited...

A whole day of the house for me today. Today I plan on the doing the detailing downstairs - you know, dusting the wall artwork, vacuuming all the window sills, mini blinds and woodwork, vacuuming the living room furniture, mopping the hard woods....these things I don't do every week and it's that time....I will inlist difficult child in handling the bird area when he gets home from school.

Hope your day is a great one!

Sharon

Good Morning Everyone,

Sharon (LDM), Sounds like a very busy day for you - Hope the housework goes as quickly and smoothly as possible!!! Good idea having difficult child help with the bird area. easy child has to take care of the litter box, etc.
Hope difficult child has a wonderful last day of school:D!

Yesterday I decided to go to my doctor's office and have my foot checked out. My doctor sent me for an x-ray. I should have the results today. However, it really isn't too bad and don't think it's anything serious. Keeping my fingers crossed as I'm not sure how I'll make it through the summer with difficult child 2 at home if I can't exercise!!!

I've got to leave shortly. My "favorite sanity saver" has another vet appointment. After I drop her off I have to do a few short errands. Then I'll try to take it easy for a while, keep my foot up, use ice, etc. This afternoon there is a meeting at the high school for difficult child 2.

Hope everyone has a great day!!! SFR

Good morning. :coffee:

Sharon- I can't believe that difficult child is leaving middle school for high school already. It's just not possible!

I have to finish decorating my little stool today. It's going to be a gift to the multiage teachers from the third graders that are graduating the program this year. I'll sneak it into school tomorrow so they can sign it in gym class. One of the student's grandmother had it overnight so that she could trace the design work onto the seat. I'll finish painting that this morning and clear coat tonight. :)

I'm also going to lunch with a friend. We've been saying that we need to go before the end of the school year and here we are! It should be fun!

Have a great day! :salute:

Good morning kids.

LDM, I know that feeling when the deeper cleaning has been put off long enough. Have fun. At least you have a sense of accomplishment.

S for R, I'm sorry to hear that your foot is bothering you again. Hope it isn't something serious.

TM, sounds like a great gift. She will love it.

I drove home from Pa yesterday with the nephews from Minnesota. They did great on the ride. Whew. Today is laundry and house stuff. We leave early in AM for Difficult Child and the Smithsonian. They are excited. I think the movie "Night in the Museum" or whatever it's called really got their interest going. So off we go. I was hoping for a little less heat but we will stay indoors as much as possible. I think riding the metro is as much fun as anything for a kid who hasn't really done that yet. Wish me luck. I'll be home Sunday morning I hope.

difficult child is a great help but he is such a little kid. I hope he grows up eventually. He really enjoys the things the nephews enjoy but he also likes to teach, share and be the "big fish" because he drives and takes them places without parents. LOL.

Hope you all have a productive Wed.

Good Morning!

I'm going to try this again as my wireless connection went down right when I hit the submit button!!!

Sharon-I bet difficult child is excited about his last day of academics. Do they do a big 8th grade graduation ceremony like they do around here?

SFR- Sounds like a busy day-I hope all goes well at the vet and that you get good news about your ankle!!

TM-What a thoughtful gift-she'll love it! Enjoy your lunch!!

Fran-Sounds like lots of fun with the nephews!! I've always wanted to go to the Smithsonian.

I'm home from boot camp-thought it would almost kill me today-but it's good to have it done for the day! In a bit I'm leaving to take difficult child to get his hair cut. We promised him a mo-hawk (sp) for his birthday (only for the summer though). Later we will take him out for dinner.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day:peaceful:

It sounds like you're all having fun. I'm glad you're enjoying your summer, it was a long cold winter for a lot of you.

We've got loads of medical stuff going on right now. I'm now in week 4 of 6 weeks' radiation treatment and my skin is starting to react. Tomorrow is also the weekly appointment with the oncology registrar and maybe this time I'll get a chance to be heard on a number of issues; last week I got a wet-behind-the-ears guy who was panicked by the chest pain and stopped listening at that point. Well, I had the stress test today (very thorough but very tiring) and my heart is fine. My doctor rang tonight to tell me.

Also tomorrow I see the shoulder specialist. Ill have some news on what he wants to do for me. Nothing can be done until well after the radiation finishes.

husband got his first rabies shot today, as well as tetanus booster, plus rabies immunoglobulin (injected into the wound, which he said was like getting injections under the thumbnail - very painful!). His doctor just happens to be writing up some research on bat bites, so he's in the best of hands. She sent him home with the supply of injections, he's arranged for our local village doctor to give him the rest of the injections. The next one is Friday.

We're still cranky with the wildlife rescuer who told mother in law about the horror stories and that husband had been bitten, she's still upset about it all and I had to cancel out of my usual Wednesday night stuff tonight, because she was so upset last night. She wanted us all together, me to stay home, because she feels my going out is making it more difficult for husband and we both need to rest. But by staying home (which I would have anyway, if it had really been needed) I let other people down. But she was so upset yesterday that if I hadn't stayed home tonight, it would have made things much more difficult for husband, in coping with her.

I'm tired and heading for bed, I'm desperately needing sleep especially after today. It's ironic - if I had gone out, both husband & I would have been home sooner.

Enjoy your Wednesday, people.
