Good Morning Everyone! Marg, it's so good to hear about the return of your laptop! I know you are glad to have the work completed on your friend's book. I do hope that all goes well with easy child 2/difficult child 2's surgery. I know that having you nearby will help tremendously. Take care of that shoulder. Maybe you can get some R&R after your busy day tomorrow. SFR, it sounds like difficult child 2 is learning some important lessons. It's amazing how others have so much more influence than dear old Mom and Dad! The life coach sounds like a wonderful idea. Hexemaus2, It sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now. I like your idea about smiling, who cares if we've lost our marbles? It's damp and rainy today, and expected to be that way all day. A movie is being filmed at the house two doors down from us - even with the rain - and our street is loaded with vehicles, equipment, movie folk and lots of extras. The movie is entitled "Always and Forever" - supposedly a science fiction love story. It sounds pretty cheesy, but I imagine we'll see it just to check out the neighborhood shots. One of our neighbors is a screen writer, and he's always bringing his creative friends around...LOL... The Cartoon Network Adult Swim did some filming here a few weeks ago. I'm not sure exactly what that was about, but we had a lot of fun watching the work. I went to a wonderful conference Saturday entitled "A Purpose Filled Life, Supporting Individuals on the Autism Spectrum Beyond Adolescence". I was able to catch up with some old friends, and I learned a great deal. The best part of the day was a panel discussion by four young adults with autism - such brave young people. They all work and some are attending college. They answered questions from the audience in a very honest way. Once again, I got a much needed infusion of hope! One mother spoke about her son, who has taken his obsession with carnivorous plants to study of horticulture at the state University. He also has been a guest on the Jay Leno show twice! She pointed out that he wasn't there because of his autism - he was there because of his knowledge about unusual carnivorous plants. Pretty amazing in my book... She said that one of her son's professors recently had to speak with some of his classmates about her son's autism. She said they didn't believe him, saying, "but he always has the answers in class"... I'm so happy to be working at home today, it's just too wet to get out. I hope everyone is able to find some quiet and peaceful moments for themselves today. Valerie
