Good Morning Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

We had a power outage across the city on Monday afternoon. It shut down air conditioners everywhere, subways and commuter trains, traffic lights. It was a mess. Thankfully I was at home both Monday and yesterday, so I avoided the whole thing.

Power is fully restored, so life goes back to normal.

Looks like we're in for another day of scorching heat. I think I'm going to fill up the Mr. Turtle wading pool and let the Tot Monster twins splash around.

Speaking of Tot Monsters, I hear young Baby B singing. Need to get to him before he wakes up little Princess P, who is NOT a morning person.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone!

Trinity, I remember having major blackouts as a kid on LI in the middle of a heatwave. Awful-stay cool today and give those little monster tots a squeeze!

I am off to Maine for my girlfriends weekend! I hope there's not much traffic and it's smooth sailing. Nala is coming with me and I've packed all my favorite cd's so I'm ready!

Enjoy the day!

G'day, people.

Trinity, apparently there was a bad blackout in Sydney today, it took out a lot of traffic lights as well as the usual domestic power failures. In Sydney a lot of our heating in winter is electric, so a lot of people would have been very cold. I hope the twins enjoy the wading pool today. A great way to cool off!

Jo, enjoy your girls' weekend.

I just got home from choir practice, taught them a new carol tonight. We're getting ready for a July Yulefest concert (it's a southern hemisphere thing, for all those northern hemisphere people who don't like singing about snow and cold weather, in our summer).

Tomorrow I'm taking niece's friend to the airport, she flies home in the morning. Then because it would be too much driving, niece & I are hanging around for six hours while we wait for her sister and mother to arrive. I'm planning on sleeping in the car if I need to, iPod at the ready. I still need to take things quietly, but circumstances do conspire against me sometimes.

I'm leaving difficult child 3 at home, he got some schoolwork done today, hopefully he will do more tomorrow. The next day we drive to Canberra to spend the weekend with easy child & SIL1. mother in law, sis-in-law and her two girls are coming too.

Enjoy your Wednesday.

Strange, we had a blackout here in our city last night as well. Pretty widespread in the city limits - overload - with the temps over 100 I think it taxed the system. It was out for about 2 hours. I had company last night and we were just sitting down to chicken curry soup with wild rice. Turned into a candlelight dinner!

Gotta run ladies - everyone have a great Wed!

Good Morning Everyone,

Trinity, I'm glad you you were home Monday and Tuesday and that power is now fully restored. Blackouts, especially in extreme heat are miserable!!! Hope the "tot monsters" have fun splashing around in "Mr. Turtle." Enjoy the day:D!!!

hearts&roses, Enjoy your trip to Maine!!! I'm glad you're getting some quality time alone with friends:D!!!

Marg, You've always got so much on your plate - Hope you manage to get some much needed rest!!! Enjoy the weekend in Canberra:D!!!

Sharon (WO), I'm glad you went to boot camp this morning. I wish I could package up some of the sunshine we have here and ship it to you...

Sharon (LDM), I'm glad dinner was already prepared before the blackout. Hopefully, the candlelight dinner added a nice touch of "atmosphere..." Hope your day goes smoothly...

Still having problems with my right ankle. I saw my rheumy last Wednesday and brought him a copy of the x-ray and written report from a few weeks ago. He disagreed with the diag and ordered an MRI. I had the MRI done Saturday afternoon and my rheumy called me yesterday with the results - I have a fractured bone in my ankle. Tomorrow afternoon I see an orthopedic specialist who specializes in foot/ankle surgery and arthritis.

So, it's another day of trying to stay off of my foot as much as possible. It would be lots easier if I could get everyone to help out more:mad:... However, I'm trying to keep a positive attitude. I finally have a correct diag and am one step closer to recovery.

Hope everyone has a good day or at least one reason to smile... SFR
