Happy Thursday Friends,

I'm glad today is a bit more laid back as we have teacher conventions. Before any of that I am heading to the physical therapist early this morning. I'm hoping he will be able to help as the muscle spasms and pain I had late yesterday was something else.

Not sure what is on the agenda for this evening. I know husband and easy child have to watch a movie for a film class she is taking. If the pick something I like I may decide to watch too or may just sit reading and doing soduko puzzles.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.:ghost:

It will be peaceful with no school to deal with. difficult child is so happy he has a four day weekend.

Warmer temps today, High in the mid 60's. Much better than the 30 - 40's. I am hoping difficult child will go out.

I am going home from work and sleeping!

Good morning :)

Sharon I hope that the physical therapy works, it may hurt initially yet give it sometime. I'm glad you are taking the time to go. :) What did you decide to do about your long road trip coming up?

Kjs - I hope you get some well needed rest. Yes we got a reprieve here with weather also. It was freezing yesterday supposed to be in 50s today. Weather is kinda crazy as of late.

tiredmommy - I love the little person drinking out of coffee cup. I have no idea how to put those cute things in my posts lol. Ugh I hate sinking money into cars. Good luck with your party planning it sounds like fun.

Me - I have been up since 6 a.m. difficult child is still sleeping from last night. She fell asleep very late. I for some reason am only requiring 5 to 6 hours as of late. I'm going to go out and search for work again today. Wish me luck. :)

have a great day everyone Hey, tomorrow's Halloween i love halloween yea candy

G'day, people.

Sharon/WO, I hope the PT can help your pain levels. Not good.

Kjs, here's hoping difficult child puts the free time to good use and gets some exercise.

TM, I hope you get all your errands run.

Jennifer, good luck with the job-hunting. I wish I could be more lively after only 5 or 6 hours of sleep!

We had a busy day today, got a lot of work done. I've found some possible circus work for easy child 2/difficult child 2, I'm waiting to hear back from her about whether she's interested. girlfriend is moving tomorrow to the apartment she and difficult child 1 will share when they're married, in three weeks' time. And I managed to get an appointment for difficult child 3, with a new specialist who has a fabulous reputation.

We're still running a Red Queen's Race trying to get difficult child 3's schoolwork done. He worked very hard today, he kept working for several hours longer today to double his output. And tonight he watched a docudrama with us, although very little of it sank in and he was reading a comic book; I bribe him with game time extension - for every minute of gaming he loses by watching the documentary with us, he gets the same time added to his curfew. He can bank the time or use it all in one night, depending on how much staying power he has. Considering he's been cheating on his curfew anyway, what is happening is we're getting him to watch TV with us for nothing.

I worked on my new frilly petticoat tonight, I got it far enough along to realise I need to unpick and make it frillier. Tomorrow. I'm too tired now.

Tomorrow I leave him on his own while I take mother in law to the doctor. But he'll still have to work - I will be expecting completed work when I get home. Tomorrow night we have a Halloween party to go to at his friend's place. First time ever, to a Halloween party! He's probably going as Harry Potter, all I need to do is give him a cape to wear and a wand to hold. Maybe draw a scar on his forehead if he wants.

Enjoy your Thursday.

Good Morning Everyone:coffee2:(me again today),

Sharon (WO), I hope the PT helps this morning!!! PLEASE take it easy today!!! Hope you feel better soon!!!

kjs, I'm glad things will be more peaceful for you today. I hope your difficult child decides to go outside for some fresh air - Being outside seems to get rid of some of their "steam." ENJOY the day!!!

TM, I'm sorry about the big repair bill. I hope you get all your errands done quickly and you get a bit of time to yourself...

This morning didn't get off to a great start. difficult child 2 had a "melt-down." GFGCAT barfed again - all over the floor, her "snuggle" ball, etc... Had to put her "snuggle" ball in the wash. difficult children and easy child were arguing all morning. husband was stressed out - Just a bunch of minor things but not welcome any time of day especially in the morning. Then finally when everyone left, I thought I would enjoy one last cup of coffee before beginning the day. I opened the refrigerator and grabbed a new carton of half and half only to discover it had already leaked all over the refrigerator and now was leaking on the floor...

Never a dull moment. I guess I'm glad its just a bunch of little things that went wrong this morning. I hope it isn't a sign of what the rest of the day is going to be like. Anyway, I'm now drinking coffee with milk instead... Now I just need the caffeine to kick in:bloodshot:

I hope everyone has a great day:autumn::autumn::pumpkin:WFEN

Jennifer, Hope your search goes well - I've got my fingers crossed!!!

Marg, It's hard to believe - Only three weeks until the wedding!!! Hope difficult child 3 gets his work done - Got my fingers crossed. I hope difficult child 3 enjoys the Halloween party.

Sorry I missed both of you. WFEN

Good morning all!

WO - Sorry to hear about the pain.:(

KJS - four day weekends rock! I hope you have a great time with your difficult child

tiredmommy - I too hate car troubles, but at least it's fixed right. Here's crossing my fingers for a good day for you.

Jennifer - Good luck on the job hunt!

Marg - It's awesome about difficult child doing more work. That's a great start. And difficult child 2 and the circus work sounds interesting. I think I might have missed the history for that.

Yesterday I had a parent teacher conference with difficult child's teacher. She said she might create a safe corner for him and solicit his input about what he wants in it. But, she's concerned about having him get out of it again. I told her to use a timer and to have a long conversation with him about how it's going to be used. He's good if he knows what to expect.

She also said that one of her biggest frustrations with him is that she sees all his potential, but can't be one-on-one with him all the time. So she wants him to take a little more independent initiative. He, on the other hand, is the type of kid who always wants reassurance and to show you what he's done. Not sure how to help her there, but I see what she wants to do. The first thing is to get his nose out of a book.:)

Also had a tech focus group meeting with the school last night. A lot of work there, and some of it translates to the school's grant writing committee meeting tonight.:/ I've been away from home all evenings this week. But, at least it's not every week.

WFEN!! You snuck up on me. Sorry to hear about your morning. Hopefully it will ease up during the day.

Good morning all,

kt is about to head out the door for school ~ she didn't make it yesterday. There is nothing on the calendar for today other than the usual becky-homecky type of stuff.

Sorry I cannot address you all this morning. Just wishing you all a good day with a reason to smile.

Wiped Out - Your back gets top priority today. Take very good care of it.

Kjs - Enjoy time off. I hope difficult child enjoys time outside.

Tired - Ouch on the cost of the car. I first read $35 which isn't bad but then reread and said "Ouch"

Jennifer - Good luck job search. When you hit "reply" and are typing, do you see a block of Smiles on the right of your typing? Under that box, there is a word "More". Click on that to get alot more smiles. It takes a long time for my smiles to load on my computer so if yours doesn't show up right away, keep waiting a minute or two.

Marg - I hope difficult child 3 can get all his homework done on time and the dress is also finished in good time.

Wishing - Here's to a turn around in luck. I had a day last week that was a serious of Ugh's but it turned around when I got to work. Enjoy your quiet time

Artana - Good luck with that safe corner. It is very frustrating when kids don't live up to their potential. I think it is very common.

Timer - I hope KT has a good day at school today.

Today I help with the 2nd graders after lunch. We have decided to discontinue tutoring. difficult child has not had homework in a long time and the tutor has run out of things to do with him. I will use that savings to help pay off one credit card. If difficult child starts to struggle in math, we can start up again. That will give us time on Monday nights for supper before Kings Kids and another free night on Wednesday! YEAH!

difficult child made corn bread muffins last night. They turned out great.

I am considering making a hot meal for our 20 students on Nov 11th - I have the day off. Maybe asking each kid to bring in $2.50. Serve Sloppy Joes, carrot sticks, potato chips, applesauce, milk, and ice cream. (another idea is hot dogs with macaroni and cheese, green beans, applesauce, milk, and ice cream) I will ask some parents if they would be willing to pay. I will make payment optional so all can participate. I have made a flier to send home and will ask the teachers also.

Yikes - I have to run. Everyone have a GREAT day. Find a way to make your difficult child laugh.
