Good Morning Friends,

Thankfully my laptop isn't being a pain this morning! Yesterday it wouldn't let me on to almost any sites! I tried restarting it 3 times to no avail yesterday morning!

Nice night last night once everyone was finally home. easy child, difficult child, and husband watched some tv with difficult child and easy child being civil to one another:surprise: Then I decided to make some popcorn and difficult child actually thanked me when I said I would make some:surprise: For a second there you might have thought he was a easy child-but only a second;)

Long day ahead. This is our official conference day. I'm starting at 7 and finishing around 2:30. Then tonight at 6:30 and 7:15 we have a meeting and then a conference for difficult child. Somewhere in there I hope to get to the health club:) I really need the workout both physically and emotionally!

No school for difficult child today or tomorrow; easy child has no school this afternoon or tomorrow. Both kids are very happy about that. Elementary students only have off today.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day:peaceful:

Good Morning All! Hope everyone has a stress free day!
I am hoping difficult child 1 will get a swine flu shot today. He and his power scooter
are already in line! His school is probably the only in the country thats not following CDC guidelines and is giving their faculty first!

Sharon - Have a good conference day !

Sending hugs to all Rabbit

Good Morning from wet and windy Virginia!

:windy:

Sharon, hope your PTA is taking care of you teachers these next two days....we always do dinner for our teachers on the evening conference day and the next day (morning conferences) we do breakfast (all in the teacher's lounge). Long days for you. Glad to hear the kids were good last night - makes starting the next day an optimistic adventure!

Rabbit - wishng you a good Thursday!

The news is all about the expected power outages today - the southeastern (shore) part of our state already is experiencing flooding and poweroutages. I live in a very old part of the city with huge old trees. When we have very damp ground (it's been raining for 34 straight hours and will rain another 24 nonstop) and high winds it's a tree topping or limb breaking disaster. Power lines join the trees.....I'm going to take difficult child to school and come back home and make sure my storm box is in order (flashlights, battery radio, battery alarm clock, glow sticks, touch lights). Then I'll head to the office for a full day....

Wishing everyone a great Thursday.

Sharon

Dear Board,
Hope everyone doesn't forget about me. I have been so busy and then so tired every night that I have not been able to but pop in now and then to the board.

I am working on the ladies lake house, getting ready for our yearly open house this weekend at the antique mall, getting all my booths ready with x-mas decor for this weekend and taking care of the house and kids with wife working a lot of hours this week. Guess I need to make a trip to the laundry mat tonight, only way they are going to get done, and maybe I will nap while they spin and dry, LOL LOL!!!!!

Hope that everyone has a rich and prosperous and calm day.

Can anyone help me figure this out? What does difficult child, ds, and daughter all mean?

I'm a mother of a 13 year old girl who was diagnosed with- ADHD when she was 6 and has been on Concerta ever since.
I have questioned that diagnoses for years and I'm considering taking her to a different doctor. I worry about her and the effect she has on her 2 and 4 year old siblings. She constantly picks on her sister (the four year old) and two little kids don't need to witness her tantrums.

G'day, folks.

Sharon/WO, with the conference schedule as you describe, I think you really are going to need the workout!

Rabbit, sounds like difficult child 1 probably qualifies for the swine flu as a priority, because of his health. I got offered it because of my medical history, but I've refused it. Immunisations and I don't get along.

Sharon/LDM, I hope you survive without power outges. here in Australia we have some types of trees which are notorious for droppping branches (or whole trees) even when they look perfectly OK. They're called "widowmakers".

Running late tonight and desperately needing sleep.

Today - busy. First - pain specialist. Second - neurologist. Pain levels - ghastly. I was popping pills ta the neuro, talking about various management tactics. Got to go back in three weeks. I think he's redecorating his office. Either that, or paying for his kids' teeth to be fixed.

In between I dropped in on easy child 2/difficult child 2, arriving just as her phone rang - the settlement it looked like we were arriving at, was falling through. We talked to the conciliator, asked for more time to make our own enquiries and I headed off to the specialist's.

Lunchtime - got back from the doctor. Time to call the lawyer, the government offices, the industrial relations people and then the conciliator again. Meanwhile some paperwork was coming through which required easy child 2/difficult child 2 to get calculating. That kept her busy for a couple of hours while I catnapped and waited for my pain levels to ease off enough to get home. Also waiting for phone calls.

meanwhile, car parked in heatwave summery heat.

Finally left late afternoon, just as black storm clouds gathering. Drove home anticipating cooling storm - nada. A few drops of water, that's all. everything haze, then noticed that western sun looked very orange - smoke! I realised I was smelling smoke through the closed windows of the car. Closer to home I could see it - finally I worked out, it was the neighbouring village, and quite big. I had to go to the pharmacy in the village, I asked about the fire. It turned out to be a scheduled backburn (why the H do it on a heatwave day, with strong wind change forecast? I think I need to make some calls tomorrow). We talked about how bad it looked, suspect the backburn got away from them.

Tonight - husband came home running a fever and very unwell. Then the phone rang - difficult child 3's interview will be on TV on Sunday night. They wanted more photos so husband scanned some and I've been busy sending them at high res.

Very late to bed now as a result - and looking like I'll have husband home sick tomorrow, with the oven repairman coming and my hairdresser's appointment somewhere in the middle of it. Somewhere in there I need to call the school over a number of things and also go back over easy child 2/difficult child 2's adding up.

Oh well...

Enjoy your Thursday (it WAS Thursday we just had, wasn't it?)

Susan,

welcome to the site. The post you replied to here is just our daily good morning post where we share what we are doing that day and just pop in and say hello to our friends on the board.

It would be best if you start a new post yourself to introduce yourself to the board - that's what our new members do. Your first post is going to get lost here in the morning post.

Here's a link to our FAQ section that will help you understand the what we call things around here! http://www.conductdisorders.com/community/help/

You can find that FAQ icon on the upper left of the page as well. Also, go to the User CP (also on the upper left) section to learn how to do a signature at the bottom of you post.

Again, welcome to the board and we look forward to your intro post. Members will be along with help once you get a chance to post it.
