:swimming: Good Thursday Morning!

Our little friend in the pool here represents the incredible humidity and heat we are having here in the south! We are over 90 and heading to the mid 90/upper 90's for the next seven days....

Today is the big day - last day of 8th grade for difficult child. Let me tell you, there were so many times in those early days - 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade - where I wondered if we would actually make it to or through middle school. I have to give him a lot of credit. Naturally I worked hard to do what I could to contribute - finding good docs, research, being here, behavior mod stuff, etc. - but he knew there were challenges inside that others didn't deal with and made a choice to gain control. It's not always easy for him, as I'm sure you all understand, but he keeps plugging. It's a day to give my teenage boy a hug and hope he accepts it!

So my office schedule will be off but I'll go in for about an hour then run down the block and pick up easy child from her apartment and we'll head to difficult child's school. I'll probably get back to the office about 1 and will probably need to work until about 6.

Hope your day is a good one - one more day till the weekend begins :try2fly:

Good morning. :coffee:

Sharon- Be sure to save a few seats for the board aunties. We'll be there cheering difficult child on, in spirit if nothing else. He's been a real inspiration so far and I hope my Duckie can find the same level of success that he has.

I'll be doing some housework this morning then shooting over to the school a little later. I'm working as a sub tomorrow with my little autistic kindergärtner and they will have their second day of their in-school class play. So I'm going to watch today so I have an idea what I need to be doing with my little guy and the other kids so things go smoothly. Then, I'll be sneaking my little chair into the 3rd grade gym class to have them all sign it. After that? More housework.

Have a great day! :salute:

Good Morning Everyone,

Sharon (LDM), Give your difficult child a big hug from this "board auntie"!!! Way To Go difficult child:D!!! It's amazing how fast the time flies by... Enjoy his middle school graduation - If you're anything like me, take some extra tissues along, lol...!!! He has reached a major milestone in his life!!! I hope he reaches and even exceeds all of the goals he sets for himself in high school - He is strong, determined and has you behind him to guide him as begins this exciting new journey... :bravo::beautifulthing:

Today it's going to be very humid here but only in the mid to upper seventies. I think I spent too much time on my feet yesterday and need to take it easy this morning. I was surprised that my doctor's office didn't get back to me yesterday. I'm going to take that as good news - nothing fractured. However, I'll call there first thing this morning. I'm sure my foot problem has something to do with arthritis - Getting old is only for the brave, lol...!!!

I don't have much work to do today. I'll get caught up on phone calls that need returning, insurance EOB's that need reviewing, etc... I'll try to put blinders on and not look at the mess all around me - Otherwise, I'll be on my feet cleaning, doing laundry, etc... Am going to get my hair cut before picking difficult child 2 up after school.

Hope everyone has a great day!!! SFR

Good Morning Friends,

Sharon-Congrats to difficult child!!!! Give him another hug from this board auntie!

TM-How nice of you to go a day early to see what needs to be done! Enjoy your day!

SFR-Still crossing fingers you'll be back jogging in no time! Keep those blinders on and enjoy your hair cut!

husband and I were going to go to boot camp this morning but difficult child had us up in the middle of the night so we decided to skip. Instead I'll go tomorrow-husband won't be home as he is having a weekend away and leaving this afternoon. It's probably good we skipped today as I think my body needs the rest after 5 days in a row of working out (of course, I might sneak in a visit to the health club).

Lots of running around this afternoon. They are having a meet and greet at difficult child's camp for next week for the kiddos with special needs. The park where they meet each day is right next to where he will be going to school half of the day next year so we will meet his teacher for next year. Then we'll go pick up easy child/difficult child from a movie she is seeing with a friend. After that it's home and an early dinner so husband can get on the road. He is going home so he can help celebrate one of his brother's 60th birthday.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day!:peaceful:

G'day, people.

Sharon/LDM, I agree, our kids deserve a great deal of the credit for getting where they do in their education. I envy you that pool and your summer heat. However, I'm glad I'm going through this treatment in winter, my skin is beginning to break out in tiny blisters like little sweat pimples and hot weather would make it a lot worse.

TM, sounds like a busy day for you tomorrow. Here's hoping it is also rewarding.

SFR, sorry you're having to deal with high humidity. We get that a lot here in Sydney, especially in summer. Our roses have permanent black spot. On hot days it can be like stepping into a sauna.

We've had a quieter day today. I still had my early morning treatment than it was time to see the doctor. And at last - I got the professor, not the underling. So I got some real answers. Basically - no need for concern, but it was good to have ruled out some nasty possibilities. He confirmed that I've got some mild folliculitis in my skin but this is to be expected and it could be a lot worse. I'm doing well.
After that I had to see the shoulder specialist (who took ages!) who thankfully was only in the next building. We finally got home just before midday. difficult child 3 is still struggling to finish an overdue assessment task (two more almost due, we'll have to get an extension on them as well). The shoulder doctor wants me to have another couple of injections into my shoulder and the oncologist has said that's OK, I can go ahead and have that done. Considering the daily undressing and dressing which husband is usually there to help me with at home, but not at the hospital - I think it would be good to have pain reduced for the last few weeks of treatment.

Tomorrow we are dropping in on easy child 2/difficult child 2 to drop off a bookcase for them, and collect our DVDs. She also has some potatoes for us, they were given too many (her mother in law trying to keep them supplied with food while times are tough). I'm hoping we can get the visit over with quickly so we can get home. I need to be home to support difficult child 3 with his schoolwork. He's hard work at the moment, although he is trying hard. I found out today that despite being told I didn't need to do anything, I actually DO have to file fresh paperwork for Special Provisions for this year's state exams; and we've almost run out of time. Very confusing... and frustrating, I've been asking this question all year and told not to worry. Now it's - WORRY!

After we get home tomorrow, husband has to see the local doctor for his next rabies shot. mother in law is still upset about it, is getting increasingly clingy and anxious, wanting us with her as much as possible but also not wanting to wear us out. We already have dinner with her every night that we can - we get one night off a week, during school terms. I'm cooking most of the time - that's OK with me. At least we know she is eating a good meal when we're there, and if I cook it, I know what is in it and can make sure it's healthy for me.

It's getting late tonight, I'm about to hit the showers then do the skin treatment stuff, then head for bed. Bras are rapidly becoming optional except when needed on public excursions.

Enjoy your Thursday.

Good morning all! You all sound very busy with your days all filled up! All I feel like I do is go to work and with my back being completely out this week, to the chiro and to bed. If my back felt better, I'd be walking and enjoying this time without my Mom here. Hopefully, next week it will improve.

Enjoy!
