G'day, people.
Sharon/WO, woo-hoo! Makeup! Good on your friend for helping you. Just don't go overboard or buy all the expensive stuff. The trick is, do eye make-up at home always, before anything else. The rest you can do in the car on the road! And any dropped bits of eye-shadow or eyeliner can be more easily cleaned up off unmade-up skin, than if you do your eyes last.
Linda, I hear you on the thicker mattresses these days. We were given a mattress and timber base, we were going to give it to difficult child 1 & daughter in law but tfey felt it would be too low to the ground. But when it was assembled, it was quite high. It's all in the mattress thickness!
Trinity, I hope you get through today and win your way through to your quiet rest at the end.
Winter is here, weather-wise. Today was cold, at times rainy. I know it's winter when my feet ache unless I encase them in sheepskin ugg boots. But it's not yet TOO wintry, because I can still wear the OLD uggs, the ones with holes in the toe and the split soles.
We had difficult child 1 & easy child 2/difficult child 2 visiting today. difficult child 1 is working well on the insurance problems, we got a letter today from his former specialist (pediatrician) with his (long-term, detailed, pessimistic) medical history, explaining why he is so unemployable. The insurance company needed to know that he's not just a slacker, he really can't get work easily, he's not going to be in a position to earn a fast $80,000 any time soon.
easy child 2/difficult child 2 is a worry at the moment - we suspectedshe's been drinking too much. Not that she is an alcoholic, I am fairly sure - but a small girl her size should NOT be drinking 12 standard drinks on her nights out! She told me she's cut back, she "only had four glasses of champagne at the wedding, hardly anything" and I pointed out that 4 glasses would still put her over the legal limit. It would put ME over the legal limit, I'm almost twice her body weight! From the symptoms she describes, I have tentatively diagnosed liver problems, she needs to get back to see her GP ASAP. I'm going to get BF2 to nag her. I believe her liver is enlarged, inflamed and probably developing scar tissue. Hopefully not, on the scarring.
I think I know the buttons to push - she has already bought her wedding dress, at huge cost. That dress will have to be altered, if she begins to gain weight. And a damaged liver is less able to help you stay slim. Plus she hates feeling sick and in pain.
At least she already has her own gastroenterologist.
This afternoon we saw our GP - not easy child 2/difficult child 2, unfortunately. Me, mother in law & difficult child 3. The doctor has tested difficult child 3 for possible pertussis, he's had this cough for over three weeks now and it's moved into a serious phase where he coughs until he gags, then has trouble breathing, sounds like he's choking. He WAS immunised, but is overdue for his most recent shots. He had blood tests this afternoon, I used the last emla patch but difficult child 3 now says he thinks he will manage without it next time. I hope so.
Then some brief shopping, then difficult child 3's drama class.
husband was driving again today, so despite being busy I'm not too tired. A good thing - I might have to go out again tomorrow to do some urgent grocery shopping. If I do, I'll use the opportunity to do my fasting blood tests the specialist ordered.
Meanwhile, difficult child 3 has a week-long maths test to work on. And I have a meeting tomorrow night.
Enjoy your Tuesday.
