:cutie_pie: Good Morning Friends - you made it to Friday!!!!!!

Weather update and bone to pick - first, it's going to be 60 degrees today! And, I'm a little miffed :angrygirl: several of you promised to send/mail me some snow the other day and I've yet to receive it. I've checked the mail everyday and waited by the window for the UPS or FedEx truck to no avail.

difficult child got in the car yesterday afternoon just beside himself. "Guess what mom, guess what?" "What son?" "Look at this." He handed me a piece of paper that said, "We are happy to inform you that you child has been chosen to attend an animation class presented by the Virginia Visual Arts Center"!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was thrilled! I told difficult child that this is what happens when you are well behaved and respectful in the classroom! Never miss an opportunity to teach a lesson........ Anyway, I am thrilled - begins next week twice a week on Tues and Thur after school.

Well, time to get ready to hit the gym for water fitness this morning. Going to take difficult child to school hit the grocery then rush home to meet my cleaning crew. Once they arrive, I'm going shopping for difficult child. As he got out of the car yesterday morning and was walking in the building, I noticed that his jeans were periously close to dork stage in their length!!!! He's taller than me and still growing - they say there is more to come as he's only 13 :surprise:

Wishing you a great Free Choice Friday!

Rabbit - Good luck with the registration.

With warmer weather in the works today, I am going to go for a walk with easy child's class this morning and get the results of his school evaluation.

Good Morning,

Sharon-I'm so happy for your difficult child. I hope he loves the class!! As for the snow, I didn't offer ours but you are welcome to come visit and take some of it back with you!! Enjoy your water class and shopping for difficult child. I wish my difficult child would grow some for his sake. He hates being the shortest in his grade. It's taken him two years to grow two inches. He finally hit 56 inches.

Rabbit-I hear you about looking forward to the weekend!!

I am feeling super tired but was asleep before 10 again last night. It's been a long week of appts. and we're not done yet. The kids have only a half day of school today because we get 1/2 a day to work on report cards.

Late afternoon today difficult child has a therapist appointment. Not sure what's on the agenda for tonight but husband would like us to go out to a movie. It's been a long time since we've gone anywhere. We figure after difficult child is asleep easy child can babysit.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.:peaceful:

G'day, all.

Sharon/LDM, sorry you haven't had any snow yet. It sounds really warm for you where you are, considering it's winter. And congrats to difficult child for the art class, that's great news!

Rabbit, it's an ordeal getting our kids enrolled in things. But it's always worth the effort. Hang in there, and consider getting a stamp made with her surname, then given names, in that order. You can dream about it saving you time!

Artana, I hope you enjoy the alk with easy child's class. Warmer weathe, huh? SOunds like I'd better wring the last bit of enjoyment from summer, you guys will be wanting it back soon.

It's really hot here, last night was unpleasantly hot and even with sheet thrown back, the ceiling fans only seemed to be rearranging the heat.

We had to head in to the inner suburbs this morning, to get difficult child 3's eye pressures checked. Hallelujah, this time they were still high, but just within normal range, and matching. That means we don't have to worry, we were told. But the heat of the day mounted while we tried to get things done fast so we could head home. We made it home by 1 pm, having browbeaten the health insurance people on difficult child 1's behalf and then I began doing more research on his exorbitant insurance bill (for the car he hit last month). It could take several years to sort out this mess. But at least the more we find out, the better it looks. Even if he ends up in bankruptcy, and the insurance company won't want that. I gave daughter in law a phone number for a free legal service that specialises in tis sort of problem, they can see them one evening in a week or so. I also rang a bankruptcy advisory service, difficult child 1 is a perfect candidate for simply opting out of it all by declaring bankruptcy, he literally has nothing to lose. So hopefully, once the insurance company realise this, they will drop it all.

After trawling through that muck, we needed a swim. The water was much colder, until the tide turned and began coming back in, then it seemed several degrees warmer.

easy child & BF1 have arrived tonight but headed straight for bed. The sleepout has the benefit of the sea breezes, while our house is much slower to cool down. It looks like husband & I are in for another hot night. Hopefully we won't be quite so worried about difficult child 1.

Enjoy your Friday, everyone.

Good morning friends,

Sharon ~ I never ever promised you snow. I know & accept my limitations.

Rabbit, have fun at the community college. It's exciting to see your difficult child expand her horizons, even if it's only one class for now.

Artana, enjoy the stroll with PCs class.

Sharon, keeping fingers crossed you & husband get out to your movie. :flower:

Marg, glad you were able to enjoy a swim after all you accomplished today.

"Hi" if you snuck in.

There is nothing on my schedule today....nothing. kt heads out to respite this afternoon. Her in home therapist will be here around 11 this morning.

Since the temps are dropping rapidly & it will be below zero by tonight I plan on staying in my pjs, paying bills, & starting thank you notes. Then I'm gong to paint or sleep or paint or sleep. I haven't decided yet. I may do both after kt leaves.

I may order a movie off pay per view. I may not. Get the feeling I haven't a clue.

Enjoy your Friday ~ hope you're warm & your family is safe & snug. Don't forget to hug your loved ones.

GOOD MORNING

Little Dude's Mom - I am trying to send you snow but am trying to find a way without the 20 below F temps to go with it. As much as I would love to get rid of this cold cold weather, I just can not do that to you. I threw in one of those teachable moments that day my difficult child was anxiety ridden because lack of sleep. I told him that he is never to drink or do drugs or he would feel like he did that morning. Got to get those lessons in when you know they are really listening! LOL.

Rabbit - Have a great day. Wish I could help with that paperwork.

Artana - Enjoy the walk. You are up early today? Or just on earlier?

Wiped Out - It will take a few days to catch up on sleep. Do you get to sleep in a little tomorrow? What movies are you looking at? Our small theater hasn't brought in many good ones this winter though I know there are some out there.

Marg - So, once again, you have received our warm weather causing yours to become hot and ours to become cold. We have a wind chill advisory heading toward us which means wind chills of -25 to -40 F. Brrrrrrr Please send some of that hot weather our way.

Timer - It is good to have KT in school. I hope you can find some peace today. Good that you are concentrating on your needs today. You don't need a clue, just go with the moment today - no planning necessary.

I am up way earlier than normal. I had a stress test scheduled for 12:45pm today. The facility called me yesterday to see if I could come in earlier. They asked if I could be there at 7:30 but that would mean me leaving home at about 6:00 in the dark and not good if the roads may be questionable. So, I took the 9:00 am slot. I am going to do a little shopping afterwards before heading home. Then into work. husband can pick up difficult child. There was some confusion with the stress test instructions. The paper I was given just says,"No caffene" but no time line so I figured about 12 hours? The staff told me no, that is 24 hours and I would have to reschedule. They then called my doctor and found out that the test I am having was no problem with the caffene I had yesterday. I am taking that paper I was given in and suggest they add the time line on it for future patients.

difficult child's school is having silent auction March 1st. I am enjoying finding items on sale to donate. I have made a kids' cooking basket, a dog sitting basket, and a girl's outdoor fun basket (jump rope, chalk, etc.). Soccer is big in our area and I found a boy and girl soccer Christmas ornament for 40 cents each (90 percent off) so I purchased two soccer balls and we can put one ball and one ornament together for two more baskets, maybe add a movie and fastfood coupon with it. I found a twin size flannel sheet set on sale for less than $5 at Walmart. I am adding a microfleece blanket ($11) and looking for a winter theme bedtime story to make another basket. I will go to a book store today.

difficult child's school has pizza today so I don't have to pack a lunch for him! YEAH!

I didn't make it back to work last night. Ended up taking the kids, the neighbor girl and our church's DCE to Applebees. DCE K stated that she likes how our family has adopted her. She is here for one year and does not know many people of her age. I told her that I like to "add a kid" when we do things. Non-easy child diva never had a problem with it but difficult child didn't always like extra people coming with. The kids reminded me that it was Thursday of last week that I took them all out. Maybe a start of a weekly event?

Well, I better make sure everything is set up for today. Everyone have a great day. Stay temperature right (cool or warm, whatever you need). Find a way to make your difficult child laugh.

LDM- did you get a package that was limp and soggy? The snow must have melted. How cool to have difficult child so excited. My son also goes to the community college for a class.....he likes it a lot, but, he is a laid back kid. LOL..so, I do not get to hear him be as excited about it. And I can so relate to the dork stage on the jeans...since my son is hjomeschooled, I had not really ooked at his jeans much, until he was registered for these recent extra outside classes..and yup- a trip for new jeans was in order.
Rabbit, once the testing is behind a person, it settles down. easy child went this is now her 2nd semester, and her boyfriend just began his first semester....so we also have now had 2 semesters in a row of doing all those tests etc. from here out now, they should be able to simply register for whatever classes with no problem. I myself did a class at a time often thruout my adult life.....(until I hit the nurseing program) I rather liked going to school that way. and it is how I am hoping to get my difficult child into college.

artana good luck with what the evaluation will bring to the forefront. Hope it helps.
wiped out- hope you get to go to your movie tonite. Tonite is the one time we ALL watch TV together. I am not a tv or movie person but the whole family has been enjoying monk and psychiatric. so we have begun to make it a little mini party thing.

Marg, Im so sorry for difficult child 1 that the accident had to come to such a point. :-( I keep reading about your weather and the beach. It helps me get thru our yuk weather. Of course in a few months, I will still read about your weather cuz....um..truth is I will likely complain about our heat then and will welcome reading about your winter, LOL.

Timer- enjoy your sleep-paint-sleep-piant options and the possible movie, LOL.....know that whenever I am at the craft store and see the canvasses, I think of you.

Adrianne- grr to the confusion on the caffeine part. I so dislike when things are not clear and we might not have a clue it is unclear until we get there....and I have had the issue that sometimes they then act like well we should have known......hmm. glad they were able to proceed! sounds like fun gathering things for the silent auction. we love to bid on things in a silent auction.

My son has his class at the college today, have to leave as soon as I submit this post. He seems to really be enjoying this class. I hope more are offered in the future, it is new here. Later we will gather and watch Monk and psychiatric....
Yesterday we got the crib settled and the car seats arranged Dr says baby is uaround 6-7 pounds expected.
I went and chopped on some of the ice out on walks and driveway as it was a little warmer yesterday. But it is gonna begin to get bitter cold again. easy child got a good dent put in her thank you notes from her shower, we counted and our best guess is we had 70 people at her shower. Of course many were small children and young men, too. ANd she got 4 baby monitors becuz the store where she was registered, the registry was nnot working at all the whole time, so shes been to return those. She also ramped up on her online classes and is nearly done with the semester already.

difficult child is showing some interest in cosmetology. I wsh I had a clue if she would go more than once. SO far there is nothing she goes to a 2nd time. ever. She has been to our agency that helps with job skills, training etc, but only for intake so far. They have not yet claled back......but, difficult child got freaked when they said the evaluation would be 2 months long of "tests" <sigh>

Oh well, it is Friday and it looks like a nice day out there. Enjoy!
