I love all of your hair stories!!! Such a nice diversion. When I first went short six years ago it was because husband and I had a fight about my hair. We had been moutain biking for three hours (yes in a time before kids!) in 90% humidity and when I took my bike helmet off he said that I was embarassing him because my hair looked so terrible. So, off to the hair salon I went to have it whacked off. Like Meowbunny's experience the stylist did not cut it short enough. She didn't believe me. But I loved how it felt! So, I kept going to different stylists and went shorter and shorter finally ended up looking like Annie Lennox. LOL But I loved it. I was in the Army at the time so I am sure that the masculine uniform that I wore every day did not help. Then I got pregnant. I did not look "cute" while pregnant. Then easy child started having serious kidney issues (luckily ok now), husband was deployed all over the country, so I ended up just as mentally as frayed as I am today. My hair was the only thing that I felt that I had control over. It is naturally very curly and has cowlicks and I must spend lots of time to get it to look good. The gal who is cutting it now does a great job but I resent the amount of time that I have to spend to style it. I miss having it only 1 inch long. It is going to happen again soon. I am craving control! Meltdowns have returned (not as many as usual though) Well, at least we went five days without major meltdown so when one resurfaced today I could deal with it better. I'll let you guys know when I do the big chop!
