And I know that there are days that it's difficult to be thankful with difficult children in the house.

Saying that, I'm thankful I'm past survival mode & am beginning to feel again. I may not like those feelings but it's better than being numb.

I'm thankful that kt is doing well in her new school ~ making good grades out of the Special Education setting.

I'm thankful for a roof over my head, food on the table & this T'giving my service dog Lenny. He's learning & he's a delight.

It's your turn.

I'm thankful for this town that I chose to move us to, for being employed and having a place for us to live, for kiddo having a decent school, for all the help and moral support we get from family, old friends, and my new friends here.

Great thread, Linda.

I'm thankful that Duckie didn't get nearly as sick this year as last. And that she's doing well otherwise, too. And that I have a pretty great husband, all things considered. That I lost 25lbs and feel a whole lot healthier. And we have more than enough when so many are struggling. And for all of you, because I haven't been alone for many years now....

I am blessed!

I'm thankful for classical music - and a super humongous set of stereo speakers and sub woofer.

For years the neighbors have blasted me with hip-hop and rap with filthy lyrics - some times until 4:am - NOT TODAY - Today I stuck it all out the window and blasted them back with BACH for about 20 minutes - and on a 5 setting you can hear MY stereo about 1/4 mile down the road! Thank you Altec Lansing. 10 minutes later? No filthy words...20 minutes later? I turned mine down. :D

And I'm blessed to have my family and all of you!

Awesome thread linda`

Thanks for starting this, Linda.

I'm thankful that we were invited to a friend's house because with-this muscle tear and sciatica, there is no way I could have put on my usual meal. We even brought my 82-yr-old cousin.

difficult child didn't eat a bite. I know he'll be raiding the pantry at 4 a.m.
Sigh.

I'm thankful that my husband is a chiro and I can get adjusted nearly every day, and he can open the clinic on Sundays to put me on electrical stimulant. for my leg issues. And I'm thankful easy child is home, safe and sound and happy, if only for 3 days.

I am thankful that I was able to graduate nursing school.

I am thankful for my newest grandson Conner.

But most of all I am thankful that the whole family is together for the holiday season for the first time in 8 yrs. Ok, so yeah there is of course the difficult child junk going on with that, but when isn't there? lol:tongue:

I am thankful that H's difficult child sister did not come for Thanksgiving.

I am thankful that we had the money to have dinner for our family, mother in law and a single family friend. I am thankful that single family friend owns a movie theater because H is there now with the kids seeing Harry Potter for free.

I am thankful that I don't have the life of a "Real Housewife..." ANY of them, except maybe Caroline Manzo.

I am thankful to have a job. I am thankful that my kids are healthy.

I am thankful that I am able to be thankful.

Happy holidays to everyone.

Good friends, so few that I can count them on one hand
Sunshine, enough said
Dogs, especially when they snuggle with you
Cats, they are the best listeners
Home, as there is no place like it
Faith, as it will pull you through when nothing else will
Perseverance, especially when you are beat down
Laughing, nothing heals better
Grandparents, their wisdom is timeless
America, so great everyone wants to live here
Nick at Nite, mindless tv at it's best
Books, especially the ones you can't put down
Cool sheets on hot nights, in a comfortable bed
Hot nights on cool sheets, in a comfortable bed
Dreams, especially getting a chance to live mine
Tomatoes, my favorite food ever
Waking up, each day it is a blessing
Children, their innocence makes me smile
Dirt, I love the smell of it
Justice, it's the one thing you should always find
Freedom, even if you make wrong choices
American Soldiers, that fight and die to keep us free
Rock and Roll music, the kind that makes you sing along at the top of your voice
Baths, hot relaxing ones with bubbles
Coffee, strong and black
Accomplishment, and the feeling that comes after
Seeds, especially when they sprout
Saturday nights, they are just different somehow
Contact lenses, so much better than glasses
Tenacity, and standing up for what you believe in
Angels, in human or super human form
Light, as I hate sitting in the dark
Mascara, especially when paired with an awesome eyelash curler
Quiet, early in the morning and late at night
Online shopping, so much better than in person
Miracles, they don't all have to be on 34th Street
Blessings, and the many that I have around me every day

Here we go again!
I am thankful to be alive.
I am thankful to have a family that loves me and isn't afraid to show it.
I am thankful for my uncle's wife who makes the most delicious shrimp chips from scratch during the holidays, and always brings an extra bag for me because she knows I like them so much. :)
I am thankful for all the wonderful people here who give so much, who are tolerant of differences, and who instill hope in others..

Quid me anxia?
I am thankful that I have learned to use a computer,
which has opened a whole world of opportunities for me,
allowing me to find people who are invisible
but who know how I feel,
allowing me to find the answers to all my questions,
including how to oven roast five different types of vegetables
which I served to my best friend and her husband
tonight for Thanksgiving.
I am thankful that I am not ready to curl up and die,
just because I am considered old.
My world is expanding, instead of contracting,
despite the shipwreck of age.

Love to all of my invisible friends!

Fly away!
I am thankful for...

Good friends who shared their Thanksgiving with difficult child and me.

That difficult child laughed and enjoyed herself today.

That my health issues have finally been figured out.

That I now have hope again.

That my family has been able and willing to help me financially and emotionally through this whole ordeal.

That my friends, on and off the board, have supported me in so many ways.

That I can laugh at things that others wouldn't know how to handle.

For having a difficult child. She has taught me to look at the world in a different way. She has taught me patience, tolerance, and courage. She has also taught me that when I think I can't do it anymore, I really can.

For having a nice home, clothes, a working vehicle, and a fully stocked kitchen.

That difficult child's father has finally reappeared in her life and is sincere.

For life.

I am thankful for all the awesome people in my life: my friends on and off the board, my family, my son who loves black friday shopping and realized shopping is out for me this year so spent all night doing most of my Chrisymas shopping, the same son and friends who got the children and horses safely home on sunday, canning my deer meat, and just generally jumping in to take care of everything, my husband fr stepping up so far, and the people poised to help him, my difficult child's, who changed my perspective of what's important, ad this year, for still having 2 feet. And so much more...
