Having fun with the new format

Hey dreamer, the problem may be the different url. The forum used to be at a subdomain:
forum.conductdisorders.com

now it's in a directory:
conductdisorders.com/forums

Webtv may not understand the redirect like a computer browser would. Please try using the url directly instead of the link and see if that fixes the problem.

There is also a new My Cookies setting down at the bottom of the page in the footer. Try expiring all of your cookies too.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I did clear out ALL my cookies, and I tried to get here by a link someone else emailed me, and by coming thru different avenues, like using google, and from old emails with notices of private messages etc. It does take me to some strange white page with text on it that might be ?programming? (I emailed it to Fran using the "contact us" link on the home page.

Nice to be back on! I missed the site when it was down the other day. Then when it came back up, I was logged out --though I never log off.

Thanks for sending the new password, Cheryl. I'm sure there have been alot of kinks to work out. Sure gald to have this forum!

The database crashed right after I backed it up and I didn't bother to fix it because we were moving to a different server. I'll email you a link, any links from any earlier than this morning will be the wrong url.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

HELP! Where are the cute big icons we had before? I saw them in a recent thread. How do I find them?

It says my HTML is disabled. Is that why? I can't find where to enable it. :frown:

p.s. Is everyone's background (the screen and between posts) a tan color or can that be changed?

Sue, click on reply. On the reply page there is a tool bar with an icon for a smiley. Click on that and the smileys will drop down.

:surprise: Ah ha!

My posting forum still says HTML is disabled. Does it need to be enabled? How do I do that?

Thanks, Fran!

Html is disabled because it is a security risk.

Using html a hacker can post malicious code anywhere that a user can type HTML, whether it be signatures, private messages, or any threads, public or private. They then have the ability to steal the username and password of anyone that views their post. They can also post meta refresh codes and redirect your computer to any site that they want to. Hackers usually like to redirect to porno sites.

Those are just the problems that I know about...

You can format text using <span style="color: #660000">BB code </span>with the <span style='font-size: 14pt'><span style='font-size: 11pt'>wysiwyg text editor</span></span> - use the reply button. Please let me know if there is a particular task that you need to convert from html to bb code.

Ya lost me, there, Cheryl. I'm certainly glad you know what you are doing.

I've been subjected to that type of hacking. Several years ago, when I went back to school, I wanted to check a link on the NBC webiste that they had advertised the night before. I got redirected to a porn site and couldn't get out. I had to ask the teacher how to get out. I was mortified

I'm lost too.
What do I do to prevent anyone from doing what you describe?
enable, unenable or anything in between??? I'm not sure which is the right thing to do.

You dont need to do anything. She has disabled the HTML on this board. Fran...I am more than certain you are adequately protected against hackers.
