Highest suicide rates by state in US? Think you can guess?

    I was thinking of the bigger states, like California, New York, Illinois...uh-huh. Nope. I was really in for a shock. The states all surprised me. I would not have guessed any of them. And I am still not sure why.

    I wish they had broken it down by age at time of suicide, whether there was an illness, what kinds of social services are available.

    Interesting statistics, MWM.

    I noticed every state was a state with lots of large rural areas and sparse populations. I bet there isn't easy access to mental health care in the areas where the suicides happen.

    Well, it also matters if the people are suspicious of psychiatrists too.

    I have no idea of the breakdown. Maybe I'll look it up by ethnicity and/or socioeconomic background. It's an interesting topic. I can't tell you how surprised I was at the states that were there. Seems like the West and southwest aren't too happy...

    I'm going to YouTube those things now :) Since I discovered the learning element of YouTube, I can't get enough. I used to think it was just a bunch of Justin Biebers...lol.
