"I want to go home."

difficult child has been very "off" this past week. For some reason, mid-afternoon, he goes from being great to off-the-charts hyper. medication increase didn't help, nothing, really, seems to calm him. He is very aware of his own instability right now.

Frequently, during this, he will say "Mom, I want to go home."

He's said this before when he's "off", but this time he's saying it several times a day. He's very forlorn when he says it; almost sad, and the emotion is real.

Any thoughts on what he's asking for?

Maybe he's feeling detatched from himself and "home" to him means getting back to himself or a better feeling or sense of normalcy for him.

I agree that he knows something isnt right and he is trying to get back to his comfort place which to him is "home".
