Someone mentioned, but didn't elaborate, that the Juvenile Justice system looks a bit differently at families where there is an adopted child when that child becomes involved in the system. I'm not certain if this was referring to the children, parents, or both.
I'm curious as to what this means--we adopted our son at two days old, and, as far as we're concerned, he may have been someone elses child for those two days, but, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, legally, and in every other way except genetically, he was our son from that moment on, and our role as his parents has never differed and never will differ in any way from that of parents with bio children.
Any thoughts...
