Hey gang: i am a proud mama. My difficult child is on the HS foootball and the less than inspired coach ran a total of 7.5 hours of football practice in 90+ degree super humid weather yesterday. A new football player and long time friend of gfgf's went home and was writhing in pain from heat exhaustion and muscle cramping everywhere. difficult child went right over. Not me or players mom could help. It was a football player to football player thing. He soaked in ice, warm water, did advil and drank gatorade. The player started panicing.. My difficult child said---"Mom, I got this. I will do the breathing with him and the talking like you had to do with me." He calmed the player's panic right away. And then he said, "It's OK dude, I had to do this for myself 3X already this week." He stayed for a few hours and then rode in the ambualnce with him. Proud he was helpful and empathetic and that he is still handling his, and others, panic issues so well! Thanks for listening. I guess football is alright. Player is doing fine. by the way, all the players are praying for rain today!
