The dr had us try adderall xr on my son and it made him so jittery and even his skin color changed to grayish in our case my son became very withdrawn. We immediately went off of it. When my son was 8 he was placed on clonidine and ritalin and the clonidine relaxed him but after awhile the doctor put him on a combination of zyprexa and ritalin but that was when he was 8 or 9. the zyprexa has a major calming affect but then we had to go off it bc it caused terrible wt gain. So then he put him on abilify and concerta. For us a combination of ritalin and the atypical anti-psychotic worked. My child was aggressive occasionally daily but not all day. In your situation unless you have enough help to supervise the older I would just call a hospital and ask to speak to the child and adolescent/psychiatrist on call and explain the situation and maybe they could admit him and observe and stabilize him. Unless you have help with him my concern is that he could inadvertently hurt you or the baby.
