need advice....6yr old masturbating..makes a porn star look bad

ok so ive been having this really big issue with step son. It been going on for awhile but has steadily gotten worse. He is constantly masturbating, not just touching full on wanking his penis. He seriously makes a porn star look bad. We have tried talking to him about it, asking him if anyone has touched him in that way and why he does it. Thankfully he has said noone has touched him and he says he does it cause hes bored. To alleviate his boredom we took all his toys we had downstairs and put them in his room so when he is "bored" hed play with them instead of himself. did that work, HELLZ NO, hes playing with himself even more. Hes NOT sleeping and when I catch him not sleeping whats he doing, masturbating. Now I know its a double standard but I could understand if he was a teenager but a six yr old should NOT be doing this. I need help, this is driving a rift between me and his mom and I dont know what to do. It makes me so angry he does this. Help please.

Although the degree of it may be intense, I don't find it unusual at all for a six year old to masturbate. Often it is done to relieve stress in young kids. My bro used to do it all the time, even outside (when outside we had to stop him). He was only three when he did it and he grew up to be a normal person. I would probably stop worrying about it and definitely stop talking to him about him a lot.

Does your stepson appear to be high strung or high anxiety? Do you see anything quirky about him besides this? Is he normal in development and does he have friends? We (the board posters) would have to know more before giving better advice.

My son had a similar phase when he was 5-6. We taught him boundaries - this was PRIVATE, in your room ONLY. Turns out that he was getting involuntary erections due to his constipation (bowels pressed on the prostate and voila). Once we got the constipation under control he stopped.
