Hi everyone!
I am the mommy to a 3.5 year old who was recently diagnosed with adjustment disorder with disturbance of conduct. I am wondering if anyone here has any experience with this disorder, who could tell me what treatment to expect, and what worked/didn't work.
Thanks everyone!
:)Allison

Can you tell us more about your child? Boy or girl? Behaviors you see? Adjustment difficulties regarding what? "Conduct distubance" is not usually a diagnosis given to preschoolers. There is so much more we need to know to really be of any help.

Welcome to the family. You have come to the right place but we definitely need more info for us to be of any good help.

Hi there. I agree with the other poster. Is this child adopted? What are the child's behaviors? What sort of doctor gave that diagnosis?

Hi Awist, and welcome.

For those asking here's information on Adjustment Disorder.
http://www.psyweb.com/mdisord/jsp/adjd.jsp

As mentioned by the others, these are highly unusual diagnoses for a young child, as in diagnoses that would make those of us who are familiar with this realm running for another doctor ASAP. Can you tell us what's going on with him--behaviors, any trauma in his life, and what kind of doctor or specialist did the diagnosing?

Also, what country do you live in? Sometimes differences in diagnoses are based on differences in clinical manuals.

Hi Allison! Welcome to the group...it's great bunch of people with a lot of experience and strong shoulders to lean on! I'm confused by the diagnosis as well, but I agree with SRL, out of the US terminology may be different.

Again, welcome to the crowd!
