Im so very sorry you are going through this. Your son has several overlapping diagnoses. The Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD)-not otherwise specified and High-Functioning Autism (HFA) overlap. High functioning autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) would confuse me. I would really want a neuropsychologist or someone really experienced in autism to tease that one out. I dont think there are medications to help autism but some autistic kids do have behaviors that medications can help with. I think most times they use Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) therapies to help. Now the psychosis is probably stemming from the severe depression. I have heard of that happening. Hopefully they can get him stabilized on a good medication regime and he will feel better soon. None of us want to see our kids so unhappy. It breaks our hearts. With the right medications he can feel much better. Please keep us updated on how he is doing and how you and your family are doing.
