You may be closer in age to many of us, than you realize.
Not only are there older members whose kids are raised, there are...
- other grandparents raising kids, and
- lots of "started late in life" parents.

And yes, the "older parent" (me) faces may of the same issues...
And yes, one of the advantages is that it hides our age better than any cosmetic surgery could!

mentally and emotionally, yes, but I think my milage definitely shows. I'll just pray no one kicks my tires.

Hello Gr8Gramma, I'm so sorry you had to find us, but welcome you to this group.

I too am a greatgrandmother, yet a member here. My difficult child is my youngest (I have eight children), and my one greatgrandson is the grandson of my oldest child.

I am in awe of you looking after your grandchildren. I don't think today I would have either the physical or emotional strength to rear any more children -- except perhaps in an emergency, or if there would be no choice. But after all these years of child-rearing, I am finally finding some respite since my youngest, my difficult child, is on the other side of the world in Australia. It is taking a very long time, I think I am still waiting for that inner peace to arrive, but occasionally I feel calm. He still manages to upset me when talking on Skype.

Anyway, welcome here. You couldn't find a nicer group of people. This place has been my life-saver.
