You're not the fragile one, you're the expressive one. I can see how you would have acceptance issues in general, and yes, that's something you can work on if you wish to, but don't attach your feelings of acceptance to your family. I hope one day you will accept you as much as we accept you. :)

Acceptance of myself?

It was a huge relief to accept that I am emotional and expressive, especially since like you, I was surrounded by stoic family members. I was teased for it when I was younger and felt really stupid. Then something magical happened in my 30's and I grew to accept and appreciate, rather than berate, myself for those very same characteristics.

If you feel that being sensitive is interfering with your life and moving forward, it might be worth investigating a bit with your therapist. I expect that acceptance of all forms of expression in yourself and others, be they emotional or stoic, will free you of a lot of pressure, both real and self-imposed.
