I occasionally get pangs of regret about the life my kids *didn't* have ... the goals you're *supposed* to aspire to for your kids (graduation, college, the "normal" progression, etc). All in all I am proud of how far they've come since their school days, but the fact I never attended a graduation ceremony, or went with them to visit colleges let alone decorate a dorm room, sometimes hurts, especially when my friends are doing those things with their children. But, such is life. I can't change it. And if I'm hurting over it, I know they are both hurting even more. </p><p></p><p>Thanks for sharing the stories, everyone.. it always helps to know others are out there going through the same thing.</p></blockquote><p></p>
