Wow, MWM. I know Lincolnwood and Skokie quite well. I've eaten at that Barnaby's quite a few times. Had relatives that lived in West Roger's park off of Devon Ave. (Washtenaw and Hamlin) I grew up off of Howard and Paulina. I also was raised Jewish, but am an atheist. My late maternal grandfather was an Orthodox rabbi, yet, LoL! I am very familiar with West Rogers Park, husband and I used to shop there for various ethnic foods, including Jewish. (He was raised Jewish as well) I worked in Lincolnwood for a couple of years as a computer specialist for a furniture company. Was working there when husband and I made it legal, in fact. We were living in Uptown, then, off of Broadway and Argyle. We are pretty much homies, and both late-era baby boomers, though I think you are a few years older than I am. (I'm 54) Yes, it is colder than normal in the Chicago area right now, and they have fresh snow. My mum lives in the North 'burbs, and has Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). It's been cold enough that she's looking at being housebound for this week due to the cold air aggravating her lung disorder. I am planning on moving back to the WI side of the stateline hopefully in the next year or so. Up here,we've had a little snow, with a little more coming each day this coming week, but mostly we've just got bitter cold.
