Papelledema...anyone heard of THIS?

That's my daughter's SO's new diagnosis. He has been unable to work for a month and both are getting scared, plus SO just feels so horrible all the time and is in so much pain. It's a rare disorder often linked to other things. If anyone as any first hand experience with this, please post!

Never heard of it, but sounds awful!

Could it be from a medication? The other causes of this sound serious!

I never heard of this either. Well I have heard of pressure etc causing optic nerve issues and vision loss etc. But never this term etc. What kind of tests are they doing at this point? I will be saying prayers for this young man. How he is coping?

They have done a CAT scan, an MRI (both normal) and now an MRA (an MRI with dye injected into it). Then they sent him to a Neurologist. They are baffled...it is very rare. And can be very serious. And I am very worried for both him AND my daughter, who is really doing well so far, but...

I hope that whatever is going on, it is found quickly and can be cured even faster.
