So I went to the police dept this morning hard copies in hand. I was fortunate enough to get the officer that came to the house the morning husband passed away. I explained. And then I had to explain the hard copies several times because the man is at least my age and doesn't do either myspace or facebook and wasn't sure what he was looking at per se. We have a problem. He doesn't know if it's illegal for M to post pics of himself. I don't have proof the kids have accessed the photo. Just that they had access to it. And that it's illegal for the kids to have fb accts in the first place. So he listened, I mean really listened, had me write a report and said he'd run it by the prosecutor and some others more familiar with fb and myspace and this sort of thing online to see what they could do. But he's going to try and if they can't do something maybe cps can. So once again it's not looking so good. BUT he's going to try. And like he said at the very least it starts a paper trail. I did tell him about M's felony. Did tell him about the nude picture of kayla, which is what started me watching M's pages to begin with. Did tell him that katie has done nothing but make excuses for the man. Did tell him that the kids have full access to the computer. Did tell him that M deleted the photo and that katie removed the kids from his friend list. Did tell him that M likes to sharpen his switchblade in front of his kids as means of intimidation. Did tell him he's got a violent past and katie claimed dv abuse in the past........ Typical. I've not heard a word from katie this morning. I know she didn't go to the police because the officer would've told me. (small town and yup they do that) So. I did what I had to do both as a grandmother and as a mandatory reporter. It's in their hands now.
